mission pants

Recommended Posts

I am ooking for new pants for beer league hockey. I presently wear an old pair of Tackla 5000. I did some searching and found that Mission m1 or m2 would be a good choice. What is the new model that is the same as these pants? everything is now titled "fuel 90 or fuel 120. How do these fit compared to the Tackla?, looking for light weight and mobility. Thanks

I went from Tackla to the missions. Tackla felt more protective to me (keep in mind this was 1993 when I bought mine). The missions feel more lightweight.

Mobility was abou the same

I have the Mission M-1 Pro's and they are amazingly light with literally no break in time, and great protection. You can actually find these online right now on clearence for about $50 (www.thehockeyhop.com). Or you can go crazy like my brother and pay $200 for Tackla's Pro's with the zippers.

The M2 was a great pant for the price when I got it. 4 years now and it's seen it's share of abuse. I think the "L" series replaced it. I believe the L3 or L5 would suit your needs if you can't find any of the M's.

I had the L5's, they were nice when it came to mobility and break in time wasn't long at all,, however they are a little bulky. However, I never wore tackla's soI'm not sure how they will fit in comparison. for beer league they are fine.

For the price the M-1 is probably the best all around pant. It's protective and is almost already broken in, pretty lightweight too. I'm not sure about the tacklas that have been on sale as of recent but I can certainly say that the M-1s are nice pants.

keep looking around, the missions were put on sale a few months ago but I'm sure some shops have some around.

Missions fit much bulkier than the Tacklas. Mobility and weight both side with the Tacklas. Mission is a great pant, but a totally different fit than you're used to.

Edit for specification errors.

BTW, I think the fuel pants allow you to adjust the legnth of the legs, but I can't find a store in Dallas that stocks them.

M1 and L series pants were adjustable too. We sold a ton of L5, they were a great value.

I love the venting on the L series, they really breath. I was concerned about the durability of the mesh panels but mine seem to be holding up very well. They are a little on the heavy/bulky side though like others have said, but so am I so we get along just fine.

The L-5 model is also great value and protection for the money. I believe Missions top of the line the L-7 had only a couple of small upgrades from the L-5 model but they weren't anything of a major upgrade. Mission pants are a bit bulky but I don't find them a great deal heavier than other pants. All in all Mission makes a great pant and I would recommend them to anyone. Mission makes some really good hockey equipment at reasonable prices and I wouldn't hesitate to use a lot of their equipment.
