I had no opinion on the helmet until today. I checked it out today at another shop today while I was getting my skates done. I thought it looked better in person actually...but I do like the foam in it. Very comfy. Think the cage seemed pretty nice too...is it available separately?

well the seven technology feels kinda hard at first but ive grown to like it... my last lid was a bauer 5000 so yea maybe comparing to the 8k or the 8000 it may not be as good.. but i have no problems with it. the cage that comes with it looks ridiculous though and so does the three color custom thing, i recommend one solid color.

I'm holding out until the new Easton helmet hits the market and I'll compare the two to see which way I'll go on this. The new Easton helmet looks a lot better from what I've seen so far. ( Heatley is wearing one now ) I want to see how it is for ventilation and protection and then make my decision based on that.

Enough with all the bad comments about this helmet i own one and its the best ive had yet.. the three colors looks ugly but i got the all white with a ccm chrome cage its really light and comfortable.

funny, i recently heard a story about how a local store had only sold one, and that the person that bought it got a concussion while wearing it. you must have had a crappy helmet before.

You can get a concussion wearing any helmet, that's not much to go by...

Very true. I've had customers who've had concussions with every helmet. The first time I saw the 9500 I kinda thought it resembled a Cascade.

I actually like the helmet, and I must say that the cage looks a lot better than any other I've seen. It looks a lot sleeker and less boxy.

My friend has a Cascade Custom Colour one, he says its protective light and really comfy. But it set him back $.

I was at a LHS in Milwaukee and they were selling the cascade's $69.90. Anyone know why that would be? I ended up picking up the last one.

First off thanks for the informative post. Secondly they were on what you could call a clearance. The only reason I was asking is because I wasn't sure if this was going to go on at other shops because I was looking for on for my five year old. I don't work in a shop I don't know the answers so I thought I would ask and see if "anyone here knows!"

Calm down sparky, it's just the internet. Look at the question, you should be able to understand why it seemed like an odd question that was probably more appropriate to ask your LHS.

guys... sorry.... not sure if it was covered already... i just scanned through real quick. if you use the Cascade helmet make sure you use their cage ( if you wear a cage ) as it is the only cage certified on their helmet. this info may be of more value to some of the buyers here as it could lead to a lawsuit if a customer gets injured wearing a different cage on the Cascade.

I wish I could, he owns 3 shops plus it was a saturday close to closing time. No big deal was just kind of curious.

They haven't sold well for any shop that stocked them, at least the ones I have spoken with. They were probably just trying to blow them out and get some of their money back to roll into new product that can turn a profit for them. They need to make some major changes before the next product cycle.

Are padding cells replaceable to make it more multi-impact friendly? There are what 8 or 12 different parts?
