Bruins relieve Lewis of head coaching job

Recommended Posts

Not a suprise but the teams gotta dig a lot deeper to make any progress, they just have to blow it up and start over.

This is weird timing, considering the Bruins were done months ago. I figured that Lewis had until about Christmas 2007 to produce a winning team until being shown the door.

There is a huge talent difference between coaching Detroit and coaching Boston. The goalie situation is a mess in Beantown, too. Toe Blake couldn't straighten out that team.

If the Bruins are looking for a low-cost solution, they could promote their AHL affiliate's coach. Or, they could get a Junior hockey coach.

You can't fire the players... So you just go ahead and fire the coach. They made bad moves all of last year and they make another one here--you don't wait until 2 months after the season ends to fire your coach, who has only been there for a year. All I know is that they need a new captain, big Z is really, really overrated, IMO. But that's another post for another day.

If only we (the bruins) had a big play making center... Maybe a guy who could lead the league in scoring...

Maybe we could trade for some players we already had, that seems to work for us... (Murry, Stumple)

Could we get Ted Donato and Steve Heinze to un-retire?

Maybe Seabass could use a walker and just play on the power play...

Wait lets get a back up goalie to be our #1, where is Ron Tugnut? Vincent Reindeau? Never mind I just found Blaine Lacher sharping skates at the local rink, he could use a job.

and you know whats the worst? almost no one in Boston cares.

You forget about Marc Savard so quickly? We just don't have anyone who can put the puck in the net on a consistent basis, and our defense is lacking as well.

Edit: Well, Mark Savard is a playmaking center, just not a big playmaking center.

what about Andy Brickley?

Learn from the Pens mistake, don't take a guy from the broadcast booth to the bench.

Not for nothing but Savard had a pretty good year.

Murray was doing a pretty good job of filling the net until his groin gave out last season.

I thought for sure he was going to get traded last year before/at the dealine. I have a feeling his numbers aren't going to be that great this year.

They have been blowing it up and starting over again every couple years.
