Ak27 shaft question

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, is the AK27 "thicker" compared to an SE? I like the shape of my SE and was curious. Also, ive heard that the Ak 85 flex is more like an 80 flex. Is this true?

I don't know if you can make that generalization. I know a lot of guys have complained that the flex on their Warriors don't feel quite right - on both sides of the spectrum. Personally, all of my AK27s feel pretty close to the 85 they're stamped at.

That said, the size of the shaft doesn't seem too far off from that of the SL. If there is a difference, it's pretty much negligible.

on my stock ak 27 the shaft feels rounder to me, but that may be becasue of my prostock ak 27 is so boxy i am comparing the 2 and being some what biased. as for the flex issue, i generally use an 85 flex, but with my ak 27 i went up to the 100 because it did feel like it was flexing too soft for my liking. but as lkpttiger said, it may be on a some what random base becasue i have heard of people saying that they feel alot stiffer than the stamped flex.

My AK 27's flex was stiffer than a TPS whip, and whippier than my 87 flex XXX lite, so 80 flex sounds about right. I've never used an Easton 85 so I can't compare.

Today I broke my SyNergy SL and the feel of the stick was skinnier than my ak27 whhich I used after I broke it. The obly bad thing about the stick is that you dont want to put a wood blade in it because the weight is uneven.

I'm using a ONE40 blade in my nipplegrip AK, and it feels very nimble and light. ALMOST too light at the blade, but I like a stick a little blade-heavy as well.

mine is a 100 but plays like about a 90. tons of kick in the shaft. I think it's more the kick of the shaft that makes it feel lower than anything else.

I got my 85 flex off Swiss17 and it was cut off and still feels like 85 flex (almost too flexy, but its okay)

I bought a Jeff Friesen AK27 with the blade already fused for the ops look, the blade just snapped. Can I simply heat and switch or would I have to cut off?

I would try heating it up first to see if the blade is glued in (Probably is not). If that doesnt work, your going to have to shave the tennon out.
