Chris Benoit and His Family Found dead

Recommended Posts

WWE.com has left the main news details, but removed the tribute type material from the site, and before the ECW show tonight McMahon went on to basically say "The tribute we did last night was done before we knew what really happened" The show went on tonight with no other mention of Benoit.

http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/benoitpressrelease

They've also started the damage control with respect to the role steroids may have played in this.

Actually, if you watched the main event of the night, towards the end you can hear the fans going, "we want benoit!"

I didn't see it...just went on what Vince said about having no reference to Benoit in the show. There was probably LOTS of Benoit signs.

McMahon rocks, that's exactly what i wanted to hear. And for those of you who bitch about wrestlers not beeing real athletes, i'd love to see you get thrown on your back in that ring just one time. They train hard for their discipline just like any other athlete would.

There actually weren't. However there probably were many made. WWE officials can take away signs prior to an event. For example, John Cena receives a lot of heat right now from fans, and a lot of fans probably make "Cena sucks" signs. But in order to promote the character as a face, officials take away the signs and leave probably a few around. In Benoit's case however, all signs were probably taken away in tribute to him.

Chevy Chase has the best pratfalls around, does that make him an athlete too? He acts just as well as they do to boot.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime_file...gal_boosts.html

Pro wrestler Chris Benoit apparently was pumping human-growth hormone into his 7-year-old son in the weeks before he killed his wife, the boy and himself at their suburban Atlanta home...

This guy was a real sweetheart.

Benoit's son had a something called "Fragile X Syndrome" I think thats why he was taking human growth hormone. you can read about it here, http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/2007/articles/1182915583.php

This is just sad. I grew up watching the Rabid Wolverine battle through hell and earn the respect of his opponents, colleagues, and fans. I always thought he was one of the more classy and respectable performers in wrestling. I can only wonder what all of the punnishment he went through during his career contributed to his downfall (assuming the reports of murder suicide are true).

As for Vincent McMahon, I think the whole limo bomb was a publicity stut and that he was not harmed. He will be back.

Not to sound like someone telling an 8 year old there isn't really a Santa Claus, but you do realize none of it is real, right?

Yes I do realize it is choreographed. But when I was little, I thought it was real as do most kids who watch it. As a matter of fact, I would not let my kids watch it today because I think it sends the wrong message to kids as far as sportsmanship and fair competition.

Even though it is choreographed, these athletes do take quite a beating. The punches may not land with full force but a body slam will still rattle you.

actually these guys are athletes, especially beign able to pull of flips and whatnot and not get hurt. I heard on the radio that vince mcmahon puts alot of pressure on the wrestlers to get bigger, and encourages steroids. Could the pressure have gotten to benoit?

Right now, regarding the death of Benoit and his family, there are a billion possibilities at this point. As much as 99.9% of the facts point the finger at Benoit, i'm holding my disgust until the toxicology reports come out. I highly doubt this was the work of roid-rage because this was done of a course of DAYS.

But if there was no high levels of steroids, then what's the motive? There is none at this point.

This isn't a movie; you don't need motive. He was nuts. He was a roid monkey. He was French Canadian.

They know he was using steroids, because they were found in his home, along with other unnamed drugs. Actually the toxicology really doesn't tell you much about someone's mental decisions, it is mostly helpful in the case of an overdose death. The psychological and physical withdrawals that people have when not using their drugs can lead to a much worse mental state than whatever the actual drug does to them...the time of most depression, mental anguish, pain, and rage, could easily be when you are off the drugs, and the tox screen could come back negative. Coming off steroids has been associated with depression and suicide.

Does it matter?

Whatever the cause, he was deranged enough that he likely convinced himself that his wife was one source of his problems, so she didn't deserve to live. At that same time, it's probable the guilt kicked in with the derangement, since he probably thought he was being merciful to his son, saving an autistic boy from a life without his parents. Who knows why he waited a day to check out himself, but maybe he was putting affairs into order.

But think about this from her parents perspective. They could live we an ex-son-in-law, but they will obviously be traumatized by having their daughter and grandson taken away prematurely.

I can't imagine how devastating that would be.

Dude, seriously read before you post, you have already had one thread locked due to it. Lfntn10 didn't say that he didn't do steroids actually, he stated that as the deaths took place over the course of days, not minutes that it could not br roid rage...

God, I'm sure we will find out what caused it, and why....

I'm not sure if you're responding to my post, but I wasn't addressing the steroid issue. All I said was it didn't matter. A mother and child are dead, and her parents are left to struggle with the fallout for the rest of their lives.

I was addressing his point about toxicology, and why the test makes no difference when trying to determine someone's motives. You can feel free to add your own knowledge to this thread, rather than try to critique mine.

A little more update on the story, one that is making this case weirder and weirder as it goes on.

update

so if the edit was made 14 hours before in Stamford, CT (home of WWE Hq) then here is some possibilities.

1.) Benoit told someone and that person posted it on wikipedia (something really stupid I know).

2.) There was someone else involved.

3.) Some fan heard that he was missing the event due to personal reasons and speculated on his own that his wife was dead, and turned out to be a horrible coincidence.

and then the next edit was made in Australia.

I am just at loss here.

And now people are linking the death of former pro wrestler Sensational Sherri to her ex husband Kevin Sullivan...who happens to be the ex husband of Chris Benoit's wife. I don't know, I wish more would be exposed in this story.
