Narrow heel, wide forefoot!

Recommended Posts

Next month i will be going to a lifeguard conference in Stockholm. The conference is held 5 minutes away from the Swedish greatskate store. In midday, we will have a 1 hour break.. So i will have like 30-40min to spend at trying skates (not much, i know!)

So, since my time in the store is limited, i need to know which skates to look for. The guys at greatskate can surely help me, but there use to be alot of people there in the weekend.

I have a narrow heel and mid/wide forefoot.

I'm in tacks (D) for the moment, but after i baked the skates (midseason) my heels has begun to slip..

help me out guys..

You have the same foot shape as myself, I'm currently using Vectors, which work out fine (besides alittle rubbing in the toebox area because my feet are just a bit too wide)

To sum it down... I suggest CCM Vectors.

i assume you meen D width?

What about vapors in 2E, flexlites D, or eastons?

I'm pretty much the same foot shape also...currently have vapor XX's in a 2E width, I would suggest either the Vector series or the new 07 vapors.

I've demoed both pairs...vectors fit like a glove after the first hour of use, and the regular d with in the vapors seemed to fit a little wider than in the past with the new toe box they are using.

I have the same foot shape. I was wearing a Wide in graf 705s...I am now wearing a D width in vapor xxxx's. The heal grip is fantastic, just needed to puch out the area at the inside of the toecap where the big toe was rubbing.

Hey, I've got feet kind of like you...overall they are a bit wide, but my heel is pretty narrow, and my forefoot area is quite wide. Typically I have worn CCM tacks to fit my feet, but like you, my heel would still slip a bit. I just purchased Easton Stealths, because these skates fit my feet like a glove right out of the box. I tried on bauer vapor, ccm vector, newer tacks, as well as the reeboks, and nothing fit as well as the stealths. Just a note, they do tend to fit pretty wide overall...so the shape of your foot may be good for these skates, but if they are more narrow overall, then they might be a bit loose in these skates.

My feet are the same as well....The new Graf G70 Ultra (North American version) are supposed to fit deep, wide in the toe, and narrower than the 709 in the heel.

Definitely try on a Vapor series. I have a similar foot, and Vapors fit great, although the heel is a hair big, it's not a big deal after heating. I wear 8D, 9 street shoes.

Still try on everything you can though.

id probably suggest the Ultra G35 in a Narrow or regular width or the CCM Vector in a C width just because a forefoot can always be made wider but a heel cannot be made narrower.

Another cheaper way is to have a reputable skate guy open up the heel area in ur skate and add a bit of padding in. I have had it done on my old skates and it eliminated heel slippages. If you can find a good guy it'll save you a whole lot of money and break in pain on new skates.

depending on how wide you mean by wide try vapors, eastons and maybe vectors. I wish I could have tried on some eastons but my vapors fit me just fine... I have a really narrow heel and a wider forefoot.

I hope i didn't do anything stupid now..

Last night me and my gf went to a friend of mine. He had been in hungary for 2 weeks. There he had picked up a pair of Vapor XV's, dirt cheap.

So, i tried them on. His XV's was size 9EE. The skate fitted perfectly in the heel, and the forefoot as well. But they were way to big..

i know i fit size 8 lengthwise, so i hope i didn't do anything stupid when i ordered a pair of Vapor XIX (EE) on closeout this morning..

I figured, since the XIX is a upgrade of the XV there shouldn't be any difference in fit or?

CCM Vector in a C width just because a forefoot can always be made wider but a heel cannot be made narrower.

Wouldn't the C-width have the same heel (A) as the regular D-width. Or are you saying that a C/A width has a narrower heel cup than a D/A? I thought you'd have to go custom to get the narrower heel cup C/AA.

it would be narrower than a D especially compared to the vapors just because from personal experience I find the vapors heel area is slightly wider than the vectors

I have a fairly wide forefoot, with a medium arch, but a pretty narrow heel. I was wearing 9E Vectors, and while the forefoot was good, but the heel had too much play. I switched to a 9.5D Bauer 8090 and am quite pleased.

What your looking for is basically a THC skate made by RBK/CCM. Look around in those skate lines and try some on and you should find something you like.
