TPS sticks

Even if it doesn't break in the warranty period, it's still a great buy. NEVER buy a stick because it might break in the warranty period, buy a stick because it's a better stick, a good deal, or what you're looking for... NEVER because it might break and you'll get a new stick.

I've just had bad experiences with the SL. Both broke in the same place a week out of warranty period.

But, yes, the SL was a top of the line, and the R4 is pricepoint. With only a $20 difference, it's definitely a no-brainer.

The SL wasn't made for durability. Would I pay $150+ for it no, would I pay $100 for it? Probably. It's a nice stick, good feel, quality performance... durable? Not soo much.

It really is a no brainer. I don't like easton sticks and I would still pick up the SL over the r4. I just wish that easton would stray away from their boxy shafts and make SOMETHING concave.

Well then, my sincerest and most respectful apologies to both BK and sabre0999 for my question as to which is the better value. Evidently, I was without brain.

As I've posted before, in all my time playing hockey I had never had an experience with Easton until the Stealth Gaborik I bought from Buzz, and then the Stealth Morris I got from Mack, and now I have a newfound interest and intrigue with Easton sticks. I am more than impressed with EVERYTHING about the Stealths, and would like to try more of their offerings.

Don't pay attention to it. I've seen people pick up synergy 300s and think they are the greatest stick ever, it happens. And most of us can question if a stick that is undurable(XXXlite/SL) is worth the money, even if it is discounted.

As long as a stick works for the person who bought it, the opinions of the rest of us shouldn't matter.

Sorry. My post wasn't supposed to make you feel stupid. SL's are just really nice. IMO it's Easton's best stick since the original synergys. But then again, this is coming from somebody who doesn't like Easton so its arguable.

x2. SL's have great performance, but as I mentioned, it's not very durable. Still a great pickup, though, at just over $100. Just read the reviews, very high performance.

Shaft shape is much different, IMO, from the 04/05 Stealths. Stealths are more rounded, IIRC. If you like boxy shafts, like me, then you'll be fine; the SL is quite boxy. Not quite One90 boxy, but still quite so.

Picked up an Intrigue shaft yesterday and shot with it for a few hours. Couldn't find much about them so I thought I'd post my first impressions.

Thought I'd give an intermediate shaft a shot since I'm 5'8" and not really getting the flex I want out of regular and even mid flex sticks. Weight and flex weren't too far off from the R8 intermediate surprisingly. I get the impression that the R8 has better puck feel and feedback as it felt a bit more like the older R2 Armor shaft. $55, thought I'd roll the dice.

It actually shoots pretty well. Puck feel and feedback are much better with this and my Sherwood xd blade than my rather dead Bauer Endure OPS. It feels like about a 70 flex and hopefully won't break in too much as it actually doesn't give too much or lose much on the slappers. It vibrates a bit more than I'd like it to and can foresee some issues with catching hard passes. But the shots come off great, I can load up wristers great, slappers are pretty good, and the flex and feel are great.

Going to be keeping TPS in mind when I need another stick as the shooting just feels much better than Easton or Bauer sticks that I've used.

im diggin the afinogenov pattern, and i want to get the high end tapered blade. anybody else get one yet? quality/feel/durability? how about the new tapered woodies?

ive got the r4 composite standard blade. feels very similar to the easton st blade, if anyone is interested. pretty heavy but solid all around.

I have the R6 Armor Whip flex with the Afinogenov pattern and it is my favorite stick...hands down. The feel on the stick is fantastic, good whip on snap and wrist shots (too flexy for me for a good slap shot, but I rarely use it in a game) and the durability thus far has been great over the past 3 months.

Chadd, how does the R8 stack up to the other tapered shafts that you have used? Is it well balanced?

Roughly equal to the original R2 tapered shaft but not as good as the R2XN10. I was really unimpressed with the Synthesis that I had and the L2 was solid but unspectacular.

UPDATE:

I caught some flack over the comment above and since I finally broke one of my R2 XN10s (after 2+ years) I decided to try one of the new (old stock) R2 XN10s and compare it to the R8 I bought a couple months ago. Since the R8 is pretty much unused, I figured it's more fair to compare a brand new R2 XN10 than it is to compare a stick that I've been using for a while and have become accustomed to.

Experiment:

The new XN10 was a bit stiffer than the broken in (now broken) shaft I had been using. Not by a lot, but enough to notice. Compared to the R8, there was still noticeably more zip on shots with the XN10 to me and the people I asked to watch my experiment. No radar gun was used so any evidence is anecdotal at best, not scientific. I could feel the XN10 shaft kick through much more strongly than the R8.

Results:

I still believe the R2 XN10 is a better shaft than the R8. Without additional assets like a wider variety of sticks or a radar gun, this is the best test that I can do. This is also by no means a bashing of the R8 as the R2 XN10 is the best shaft that I have ever used. Your results may vary with your size and strength, this is just a report of how these sticks worked for me.

XN10 stuff is pretty much gone and Adrenalines were blown out over the last month or so. There aren't many left on any websites.

I forgot to ask, Has anyone had any trouble removing the blade from the TPS Adrenaline fused OPS? I am only able to find Left Hand sticks in whip flex online... so I figure I would just remove the blade..... if it is removable that is :P

Could some of you guy's that use the Afinogenov pattern post pics of it?

From various angles would be awesome.

I've seen some pics of the old brendl curve, but that was just next to a dolomite robitaille.

Btw how long is the the Afinogenov pattern? same lenght as a sakic or shorter?

I just picked up one of those CS4 shafts in whip flex and it's the best shaft I've used yet. Lots of "pop" to it and it balances great with a wood blade. Tempted to get another but I've got too many shafts piled up now.

Definitely removable. I recall a few guys on here pulling it out.

If you do buy the Adrenaline, take caution, because it looks laughably bad in person. I thought it looked ok on the net, then I saw it... It looked like a cheap toy.

If you can deal with the looks, scoop it up.
