Rustpot 1 Report post Posted September 2, 2007 Damn it makes me wish I went to Kettering or UofM instead of Michigan Tech. I used to live an hour west of Novi, now I live 10 hours north, and I'll be turning 21 just a month and change earlier. Move it to the nice gap between Christmas and New Years! Not that I want to show up and showcase my horrible "newborn deer" skAt0r skillZ.

chikinpotpie 137 Report post Posted September 25, 2007 I don't think that the "special access" areas of Novi ice arena are all that exciting.

I remember the first time I watched a tape of one of our games. My thoughts were:1. Shit, I'm slow and fat2. At least I'm always in a good position

At least I'm always in a good positionIn my "rookie" men's league season, my wife videotaped a couple of games. I ripped them to avi and posted them for the team. Quite a few of them told me they wished I hadn't shown them :)

wickedwrister 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2007 Hey JR,Are you able to or interested in getting 2 sheets for this. Sounds like we may have the numbers. I would say a pre-pay at least 30 days in advance so you and/or the rink are not out anything.

Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted March 29, 2008 If you had the opportunity to rent out an NHL arena as part of a group (say 30 skaters) with scoreboard and scorekeeper, how much would you (one skater) be willing to pay to participate?Chipotle before the game: $13Ice cream treats for the girls: $8Tickets and parking: FreeSkating at the Pepsi Center with refs, scoreboard and scorekeeper: Pricele--, er, Free!I got to skate in a charity game after the Avs game tonight with local police and firemen. (The Avs sold the tickets at half price, which the teams resold for $15 more, resulting in $5000 raised.) We got our asses kicked, however! We determined our youngest players were 34 and our oldest was 73, while their three youngest players were young enough that they were still cadets. They scored all eight goals and worked us.But it was a lot of fun to skate on the NHL sheet. The ice was hard. The lighting was exceptional. No funny bounces off the boards. It's a bit unnerving initially, however, to hear people rapping on the glass; it creates a sharp ping and makes it seem like you're a fish in a bowl. It was also very warm in the arena; a number of us was sweating long before the game started. Last, they had us change in a banquet room with no shower or toilets accessible, because two women's teams were skating after us, although if they had asked us I'm sure we would have been accommodating and willing to share the showers...... Trudy14 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2008 I skated at the Garden with score board and refs for free in the WAAF Slice the Ice game last month. If I had to put a price on it I'd probably pay no more then 50-60 bucks tp play there again.
