The thing that irritates me (because I kind of liked him) is Emmitt Smith. When all this went down, Emmitt was behind Vick and said that the government is just using Vick to get to the big fish. Now, its apparent (as Chad said) that Vick is the big fish. Emmitt's take on it? When a person reaches Vick's status as an athlete, professionally and monetarily, he needs to separate himself from the bad element. Hello! Vick is the bad element. How does he separate himself from himself?!

I think that he is stupid for "keeping it real" with his homies. Didnt he ever watch Dave Chapelle's skit: When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong? Well it went wrong this time. I guess you can take guys out of the hood, but you cant take the hood out of the guys. If I were a huge star from the hood, I would keep it real on the hill. If anybody said I "sold out" or turned "stuck up", I guess it would be hard to hear them from way up in my gated community lol. Mike Vick was my favorite NFL player to watch, now I rank him right up there with Michael Richards (Seinfeld), for being a cruel jackass. He'll get jail time, because O.J. already used that get out of jail free card, ( plus he wasnt dealing with the feds ) and if he's lucky he'll learn about the "realness" of prison and come out with a new outlook on things.

ps-where are his "boyz" now? lol

CNN now reporting vick is in negotiations about a plea deal.

If he accepts any kind of guilty, his football career is over.

What team will hire the face of animal abuse, particularly dogs (over 66% of american households have dogs), if he enters any kind of guilty plea

So you have absolutely no faith in the court system and perjury offences.

...Barry Bonds is still a free man, but that's a discussion for another topic entirely.

Is anyone going to stomach thru HBO's doc on dog fighting? I could barely make it thru the advert for it and no way could I watch the whole thing.

Now Vick has to worry about being labeled as a Al-Qaeda supporter. While being one of the most frivolous lawsuits ever filed this is just too funny not to put up.

Stealing and then selling dogs to buy missiles, this guy deserves the chair B)

That HAS to be absolute crap. The guy that wrote it wrote the entire thing in what looks like Crayons!!! Open the pdf within the link....it is nothing but a joke.

Pretty damn funny though.

:o

No way. I wouldn't be able to get through 60 seconds of it. I have too much compassion for animals, and seeing stuff like that makes me nuts. I've seen plenty of stuff I didn't want to see at the Humane League.

Now on the breaking news banner at cnn.com

Two of Michael Vick's co-defendants say in court documents that Vick participated in “executing” dogs earlier this year.

If he acknowledges this as part of a plea, thats a lifetime ban from the nfl.

If he goes to court and loses, and gets more than the 12 months recommended in the plea, also a lifetime ban.

Methinks the scum has played his last nfl game

Some more...

Vick's co-defendants also stipulated that the money behind the Bad Newz Kennels dogfighting operation came "almost exclusively" from the Atlanta Falcons star
If the 27-year-old Vick rejects the deal, he will face an additional charge under the federal Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, known as RICO, a source with knowledge of the investigation told the newspaper.

According to the source, who requested anonymity, conviction under that charge would be punishable by up to 20 years in prison. The new charge would be considered by a grand jury that convenes Monday.

I agree. On every major news channel, they talk about these cases being very hard to convict people on, and furthermore, they want to set a example on animal abuse and whatnot.

They seem have a very solid case now. The general appearance now is "If Vick doesn't take the plea, he's REALLY gonna get screwed."

Why don't they take that off the table, and make that example?

Even if he takes the deal, he ends up in prison and they make an example of him. Court cases are never a sure thing, no matter how solid the case. If Vick takes the plea deal the prosecutor gets a win and doesn't have to spend several more months working the case.

Now it appears Virigina will go after him as well. Talk about a quick and painful fall from grace. He deserves everything he's going to get.

Virginia to pursue Vick charges

Poindexter to send case to grand jury in September

By STEVE WYCHE

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Published on: 08/17/07

Michael Vick's problems didn't end with his former friends and co-defendants pleading guilty and alleging that he funded a dogfighting ring and helped them execute dogs that failed to show the gameness to fight.

Virginia Commonwealth Attorney Gerald Poindexter told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Friday afternoon that "yes, indeed, we will prosecute" Vick and others on possible animal cruelty and dogfighting charges. Poindexter said he would probably submit his case to a grand jury that is scheduled to convene Sept. 25.

He has not determined which charges he would file but said he would aggressively prosecute based on previously acquired evidence and some of the the evidence presented in the federal case. Dogfighting and animal cruelty are felonies in Virginia with animal cruelty charges holding penalties of up to five years in jail for each animal killed.

"The execution of these animals — and the manner in which they were executed — is startlingly offensive and demanding of prosecution," Poindexter said.

Statements made in the guilty pleas reached by Phillips and Peace that they accompanied Vick in the execution of eight dogs this April and fought dogs on Vick's Surry County, Va., property solidified Poindexter's decision to move forward with prosecution.

see, i dont know why the prosecutors even have the deal still on the table. I'd yank that shit right off, and really screw him over.

For every case that goes to court, there are countless ones that end in plea deals. Its a quick, exact end to things, where a trail is somewhat uncertain, and lengthy and costly.

probably just to put the thing to bed ASAP, as cheap as that is. And honestly will he get a fair jury trial? no. everyones heard about the case, everyones already got an opinion. You'd end up with a juror who wont vote against him and hang the jury, or you get one that convicts him before the evidence is heard.

i was bored today so i mulled it over.. LOL
