CCM Vector helmet

Recommended Posts

Been wondering this myself. I actually tryed one on the other day and liked it better than my RBK 8K. Funny how when I first saw it on TV I thought it was one ugly MOFO. It fits nice and is very light. Great price to. I've seen it for $69.99.

lol tried it on today in fact

just as comfortable and light as the 8K when standing still but moves a lot when u give a shake and unlike the 8K and the NB8500 there is no tightening adjustments

even the mission intake has some kind of tightener to hold that bucket right where it should be

looks..... not all that important to me so...........

I thought it looks better in person. It's also a bit longer, normally I have to use a large in the lowest setting, with this one I fit in a medium at the largest setting. It's the first EPP helmet that I've really considered buying.

CCM has a program this month if you buy a Vector helmet, you get a free t-shirt and ballcap. Not a big deal, but hey, if you're planning on getting one anyway, be sure to ask your LHS for the coupon for the free stuff. You also get one chance to win a on ice session with OV.

Oh yea, the hemet is pretty nice, customers have liked the fit and feel. It's much like the 8k.

That is your head's fault, not the helmets. It moves because it doesn't fit you properly.

I'm a pretty big fan of it, especially for the price. Great deal.

I think IW has it for the same price. My LHS has them for $100 and thats the most I've seen asked for them.

Hockeymonkey price is actually $69.99 plus $14 shipping and handling, total $84. From what I see most LHS are selling them right at that price or slightly less.

no edge all helmets move ......im pretty sure you can't get custom helmets yet so..........every helmet i have ever tried on has movement when you give it a shake , some more then others but i was stating the point that there is no extra adjustments for my apparent problematic head as you said. All helmets fit my head just some not as good as others. The new CCM is nice and comfy but i want to tighten down the hatches when i start skating fast as i do with all my helmets. But i will give my head some shit Edge since after all it is mishapen. B)

Then you haven't found one that fits your head properly.

LOL

I already gave my head shit for being misshapen, but actually the NBH8500 is nearly perfect for me.

I'm in the same boat with TBLFAN. The helmet fit me perfect in a medium at the largest setting. No movement going on. I wear a cage as well which will help to keep it stable to. Just like skates, gloves and everything else. They all fit a bit different.

The Carbster was A bit before my addiction with gear. I heard that it was the most protective helmet to this day, but from the looks of it, what a fugly helmet. LOL!! I laugh when I see guys like Carter and Kozlov still wearing them.

You left one out.

Seriously though, it was a great helmet if it fit you. Mine rubbed me right behind my ear but was great other than that.

I just traded for one, never had one before. It rubbed me right behind the ear slightly but when I hit the ice it doesn't bother me at all, it's the only helmet I've ever had that doesn't shift on me(while not squeezing my head).

Doesn't look all that bad on Carter. With the dreads coming out the back and the tinted visor, hes pretty stylin. B)

Haven't played with one yet...but I had one on my head in the store today. When the times comes to replace my bucket...I'm DEFINITELY getting one of these.

CCM helmets have never really fit me right (I currently wear a Bauer 5000 Med). The fit of the Vector seems very very similar to my Bauer (at least to me). The adjustment thing is SOOO easy to adjust. I don't know about you, but I find it very awkward to get the right size on my Bauer. The slider will jump 3-4 spaces at a time...and it's hard to get both sides the same...maybe it's just the one I got...I don't know.

But...the Vector was so easy to get right. The tabs covering the slider are a little harder to get open than Bauer's but now I'm just being picky *L*

Like I said...when the time comes, I'm getting one.

I have only tried them on and seen them in my LHS. Alot nicer looking in person I think , pretty combfortable to. I really like the padding on the inside of the helmet. Looking into it as a possibiblity for my new bucket.

My coach designed the helmet so everyone around us is starting to get them. I'm in a Rbk 8k medium and the Vector medium definitely is smaller. Seems like a great helmet though, looks pretty good with a cage too
