I loved this guy when he played for the Sharks. He never took a shift off. One of my favorite players ever. It's too bad his career ended like this, but congratulations on a great career for "Reech".

Yeah, that earned his money. Loved watching him. I was surpised by his point totals. More than half a point a game. He contributed more on the scoreboard than I remembered. May retirment to good to you, Mr. Ricci.

I watched him center the #1 line in Peterborough one Saturday night with Tie Domi riding shotgun. The next afternoon he rode roughshod over the Royals in Cornwall. He was an awesome offensive machine in the OHL who totally redefined his game when he came into the NHL. 4th pick overall behind Nolan, Nedved, Primeau, and just ahead of #96's other favorite grinder, Jagr. There are not too many heart and soul guys like Mike Ricci around anymore.

Haha seems like his next injury was pretty serious. But he may have been the biggest grind it out, hard nosed hockey player of my era. Too bad he didn't stay in philadelphia long and played his better seasons with the sharks, I would of loved to watch him play a bit more.
