Warrior Dolomite Modano

Recommended Posts

Alright, normally those threads arent my way to participate here on MSH, but times are getting harder these days ;)

Well, i could get my hands on a Warrior Dolomite by Mike Modano for a niiiice price. Pro Stock, obviously. The guy who has them has no opportunity to get me some pics, so i try to get some infos from you guys. I would like to have some pics (and maybe infos) of the blade/curve and the shaft. Is there a special grip texture? Ive seen a lot of Z-tac'ish grips and if the Modano one would have one i would be psyched. What about the flex? Afaik Modano uses around 90-95 if i can recall it right.

Thanks so far.

There was a guy on ebay with around 5 of them for sale. Can't remeber all the details but think i recall 95 flex. Don't know about grip. Blade I think is a closed mid/toe curve. He had photos on there too.

Wow, thanks a lot! The curve is kinda okay and i will pay less than $100 (converted from EUR) and thats very okay for a pro stock Dolomite.

God damn you MS'ers!!!!!

Because of that link Stick9 put on this topic ... I looked at the RBK 15 pro pattern ... then wait striaght to Proreturnhockey and ordered one ... "only customise your stick for an extra $10" .. I thought .. Why not????

So in the space of 15 minutes I am now $200 worse off than I was this morning.

I really think I have an impulse purchase problem.

I wouldnt recommend a modano prostock, it is the same curve as his retail, but the toe is square and the blade is skinny as hell, I bought one last season and ended up just cutting the blade off because it was too thin to take a slapper with. The only downfall is how thin the blade is, it looks like it was used for street hockey.....even my teammates were like, "whats wrong with the blade man?"

What do you mean by thin?

Wow, thanks Drew.

Actually, being a Druryhead this curve seems to be ok with me, so i think i will get my hands on it.

what's the legal max?

Less than 3" and greater than 2"

Selanne's supposedly looked like a goalie stick. (diff rules for that)

Alright, i got the stick for about a week now and i think i can post my 2 cents here.

The shaft is not grippy, tho its not that slippy, if i compare it to my old Z-Bubble shaft. I can live with that.

On the shaft it says '260', but regarding to my knowledge, 260 is 95 Flex in the Easton Chart and thats how the Dolomite feels. I did not cut the stick, it has my needed length.

The blade feels sorta special. When im bouncing a puck on the blade, it flexes downwards. Maybe its not the blade, but the taper. I know, its not what i will say right now, but it feels like the S17 (or how i imagine this technology). I love this whipping/bouncing and recommend it.

The curve is exactly like on the posted pics a tad above, but it seems a bit more Druryish (which i like). Well depends all on the angle of the camera.. we know that dilemma. Maybe i should mention that this stick has the normal carbon fiber style, not the checkerboard style.

Anyways, a fine stick for a nice price. I paid less than $100 (incl shipping).. on the sticker from the official Dallas Stars Equipment Sale it said $100. Also a good price if you ask me.

My buddy, who is a german and got around 3 from a fella straight outta Dallas. Id get you one but when the stick has to be shipped to the States first, it wont be cheap. Sorry.

By the way: I opened up the cap and it said "VAPOR 15".. What does that mean? If it was VAPOR 30 i'd be selfexplaining.. but 15?

I've got over a dozen waiting their turn, so I'm good. Since Inno subcontracted for Bauer, there is a chance that it is a Vapor XV shaft. No worries though as those are solid as well. You never know what you're going to get when you but a Warrior.
