Those are game-used sticks, presumably autographed, presumably this pic was taken after they packed for the summer. The stick all the way at the end with the big knob is Lidstrom's.

I was wondering about that stick. Yes the picture was from the Wings cleanout day. I just got a kick out of it. Tell me; Why do they have sticks signed by their teammates? For family members?

Players would get sticks autographed for family members charitys that they do work for and even for their own personal collections. There are quite a few players around the league that would have sticks and pieces of equipment from players around the league that they themselves either grew up idolizing or are good friends with.

The Great One on his last game gave away to each team member a last game used signed stick. That would be the stick I would be holding on to ;)

lucky luc robitaille did the same thing, he was switching out sticks each shift so he'd have enough that he used in his last game to give out to teammates/family/friends..

He may be taking them back to the mother land for that crazy guy who collects sticks (think he is in St.Petersburg?) .... and not like an MSH'er collects sticks .... I think he has around 2500-3000.
