Short Elbow Pads

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a set of short(er) elbow pads in the forearm area. I currently use Easton Synergy 400's, while they're fine for the most part, I don't like how they feel on my top(lft hand/arm with my new gloves. I've looked around a bit, but it seems as though most elbow pads offered are similar length. I've seen pics of the Sherwood 5030 classic elbows, but have not seen them in person.

Does anyone use the 5030's or know of any other elbow pads that don't go too far down the forearm?

I play in a beer league and don't take too many slashes to that top arm (I'm RH, so it would be my left arm)if I needed to, I could always use 2 different pads. thanks for any inout.

Hockeyworld.com usually has some older style elbow pads which don't cover the forearm. You could also just cut the forearm protector off of your current elbow pads. I'm not familiar with what you have, but that might work as well.

I don't find my V-14's go too far down that they interfere with my glove cuffs, but I wear X-70 gloves, which are pretty short in the wrist - I guess it would depend on your glove length. I have tried on the 5030's, and I don't think they were a hell of a lot shorter than the Nikes I have. They were definitely not as comfortable, but you are talking different price ranges there, too.

I never thought my Stealth elbows were all that long, but they don't look too much shorter than the Synergy ones you have.

I think my problem is a combination of short fore-arms and my Easton gloves. They have that stupid "Smart-cuff", and while the gloves are comfy, this elbow pad issue bugs the heck out of me...

You have long cuffs or short? I always though Easton had the shortest cuffs of all gloves.

I wear Vector Pros, and they have medium length adjustable cuffs, my forearm is just under 12" long (yes I have a ruler sitting at my desk), between the Vectors and Stealths there's 3-4" of gap in coverage (I wear some cheap TPS wrist guards there).

Those Sherwoods look to be just elbow caps if that's what you're looking for, I'd probably go with as small a size as possible as those types always slide down my arms.

I use the 5030s and they don't interfere with my gloves at all. There is a gap between the bottom of the pad and the top of my glove but it hasn't been an issue for me.

I mostly just play pickup though so if someone gets by we usually let them go.

I never could get used to the newer hard elbow pads.

I've been using these Cooper FlexForm BP650's for as long as I can remember. Just the perfect length, even with the longer cuff on my XX's.

Jofa 8025 and 9025 are pretty much the same and a little easier to locate.

I second the the Stealth elbow pads (S5 or S9). I switched to them for the same reason and I've never looked back.

Here's the thread that solved my elbow pad problems...

Hello, I'm needing to replace my Jofa 8025s. I don't know which pads to replace them with, as I'm looking for an elbow pad that is the same size- the 8025s, for those that don't know, are fairly short in comparison to many others (I have a gap between the pad and my glove). I play beer league, so I'm not looking for maximum protection in the forearm area. Thank you in advance.

By the way, I'm having a hard time finding many of the suggestions listed above.
