Easton Flex Question

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, does anyone know what easton sticks will be offered in the 70 flex option? I cut around 4" off of my sticks and it really messes wth the flex. Intermediates are also too whippy so I am really wondering. Thanks!

Anyone know how much softer a 70 flex is than an 85?

I play D and I have a great wrist shot... I dont really have a clapper and was thinking 70 flex might improve the wrister and help me develop a slap shot?

Question: will i notice the difference between the 70 & 80 flex?

Okay, the first answer is painfully obvious.

The second answer? Let's see, would you notice a difference between 80 and 90? 100 and 110? It's noticeable.

To clearify... I am coming from playing net and I never worried about flex before...

Will I notice an enormous difference between a 70 & 85 flex? or is it pretty subtle and either flex will do?

Will a 75 aid in improving a weak slapshot or will help the wrister?

I am about 6'1'' 205 lbs... very little upper body strength

Yes, that is a noticeable change in flex. The 75 flex may do one or the other for you, but you really won't be able to know until you go out and try a stick. Go with a friend and borrow one of theirs and see what feels good for you and test them.

i really really wish easton start making a mid flex for those of us in btw 85flex and intermidates. at 80 flex would be great... or a 77 like the Nike/Bauer lines.

I dont anyone using a 70 flex and I dont want to take the plunge without trying one or at least some feedback...

will 70 flex improve a soft slapper? or only wrister?

Lighter flexes are more beneficial to wristers, and stiffer sticks to slapshots.

Not to sound like a jerk, but practice will improve your shots the most. You're better off picking what you think will work best, and then playing with it, as opposed to jumping around to a bunch of flexes to fix stuff.

It depends how you shoot.

Brett Hull had a pretty decent slapper that got him a few goals in the show and he used around a 65 flex.

Chara has a pretty decent slapper too and he uses a 120+ or god knows what.

All depends on how you shoot.

Bought a pair of 85 flex synergy ii grips...

I know that practicing will improve my clapper but I only play beer league... not alot of alot of practice time... I was curious if a softer stick would improve my shot out of the gate...

For comparison... switching to koho 580 pads from heaton helite IVs when I went to college drastically improved my butterfly... the technology made me better :-D ... I was wondering if a softer shaft could do the same for a poor slapper

The flex is probably fine for you. Just keep practicing and you'll get the results.
