How very gay of them... Glad I bought another one while you were doing the dirty work!

On the plus side, MSH has brought the best stick ever made back from the dead. That's another nice little feather in our cap.

Touche! That means I can stop trying to pull the blade from my xn10 OPS. That, has proved to be a bitch and a half.

Yeah, Richie switched sometime after the Nashville game. I first noticed them against the Caps.

So it is confirmed the XN10 is coming back? When can we expect this?

OPS only or also shaft varieties?

I don't have those details, only know what SRI posted on the last page. I would guess they wait until after the blowout season.

Oh when I heard "best" I assumed the AC or Grip Lites were coming back. It's just those.

Those things were tanks but very few people actually liked the performance.

Wow new XN10s is exciting. I would assume it will sell as a Lower priced high end stick, right? 100 retail?

Original wholesale cost on them was not much below the retail of $129, but that was four or five years ago.

Yet some stores still sell them for $129+ I wonder why they still have available stock?

And that was for the shaft, not the OPS. The OPS was around $179 retail with a similar margin. That's why most shops won't mark them down, they don't want to sell for cost or below. At some point you just have to blow it out and get some of your money back and put it into new product that will move.

Chadd,

Your post is incorrect and IMHO you crossed the line with it.

I was talking about the shops that sit on merchandise at full markup then complain that it didin't move. Dead inventory is bad for shops, they're better off moving it via ebay or elsewhere at a loss than letting it sit on the floor for two or three seasons after it was discontinued. That has been discussed here many times and is not crossing any lines. I think you're reading something into my post that isn't intended.

Is the mantra of MSH to support the LHS or to try and find closeouts to sell to other MSH members for profit? There are quite a few lines being crossed and messages getting blurred.

Lots of lines, let's not make this personal and be happy that the best stick ever made is coming back thanks to MSH.

Nothing personal.

What's up with Cheechoo's Easton OPS?

When I spoke to them at the show they said they were still using XN10 in some of their european products. We'll just have to wait and see on the new ones.

I have always agreed with, often been responsible for, removing current wholesale and/or team pricing on current and/or upcoming products. I assumed since it was a dead product and several year old pricing, it wouldn't be an issue and it would highlight how little margin was available to dealers. It's not often that people really see how little profit is made from some products, and TPS products from that time period had some of the worst margins in the industry.

In the interest of goodwill I will redact the price, despite my beliefs.

Chadd, my post is based upon giving out wholesale prices, even if it was on product made a few years ago, or, "dead inventory."

MSH has been supported by many manufacturers by providing photos, info, and in some cases target prices with some mods on MSH (namely JR), well in advance of the product(s) coming to market.

I'm sure that LHS have much to lose with any type of wholesale price posting.

MSH once took a stand against a member who posted wholesale goal price lists from both RbK and Vaughn.

All I am saying is that posting this type of info could hurt the "info highway" that is runs towards MSH. It shouldn't be taken for granted and for that reason, I felt that a line was crossed.

If you feel I am wrong, no probs. I just wanted to state my opinion.

This BB (and many others) have those that are going to start a thread saying "if it cost $XXX back in 2004, then why does it cost $XXX in 2008?" Now, obviously, you and I know that 2004 and 2008 dollars aren't the same, but, do they need a "head start" on it before it comes out?

That's because some people don't grasp concepts like R&D costs, salaries, marketing, etc... they only consider materials and they still don't get the hard numbers right on material costs. That said, we're several miles off course now, probably best to get back to pics of pretty new toys.

Seeing the previous price and wholesale... That's NOT a lot of money to make on a high end shaft!

Like I've said before, you look at Nike shoes/apparel and many other items bought at retail and you'll see a 70-100% markup at large stores. Of course, that is not always the case but almost everything is at or near 50% profit, again at large chain stores.

If that pricing is accurate, that's peanuts.
