anybody have any experience with the Fury line w/ Crocs materials?

Recommended Posts

Has anybody tried or heard anything about how well the Crocs material works for hockey?

I saw a pair of the shin guards at my lhs. I thought they'd be lighter due to the Crocs material, but it could have just felt heavy b/c they were enormous, like 14-15 inchers.

The store guy said that the only drawback he noticed was that you need to wear longjohns when using them otherwise if the pad shifts on your skin it'll rip your hairs out.

I've been wondering about the new fury crocs equipment too.

Those shin-guards should be really light, based on material, don't know if anybody here has tried them yet, but at least their available in retail now, so it should only be a matter of time.

I didn't examine the pair I was looking at too closely, but I think only a small bit of the shin guard liner was made out of the Croslite material. That's probably why they weren't noticeably lighter.

Btw, it looks like the only gear made with the Croslite are the shin guards and some of the gloves. The website doesn't indicate that the elbow pads or the pants contain Croslite.

Those elbow pads were around before the Crocs buyout. Keith designed those pads while he was still playing.

The shin pads I saw were fully lined with Crocslite, not just a small bit.

Most comfortable shin pad I've ever tried on. Too bad I got my Synergy 300's free, otherwise I'd be using these.

Is it true though do you have to wear long johns, like if you have pretty hairy legs will you just be in loads of discomfort. Cause i am seriosuly consider buying these but, want them to be awsome and plus i dont tape my shin pads so they might move a lot and dont want my legs getting killed haha by the croc stuff?

I think that would kind of defeat the whole purpose of preventing the staph and everything. Maybe not, just doesn't seem that it would be a problem if you would already have something preventing you from touching your shin pads.
