MK3 STICKS

Recommended Posts

I have yet to use one, But I have seen them. Skated with the Wings Alumni last year, and Darren Banks had a batch of them with him. Like you said, felt pretty good but didn't get to truly try it out and see the performance and such. Seems like a good affordable OPS.

Ya the pattern I saw was simiar to a Heatly. Nice grip, stiff flex though for my taste (105). But just a very plane no frills stick with Monocomp tech.

Looks like they're off the shelf from one of the Chinese factories. The options are identical to the factory that made the sample sticks that I have. Feel and performance are both similar to entry level sticks that the big guys are selling for $69-$79.

hahaha BANKS

Eh, been trying to get us to buy it. No thanks.

Now that you mention it, I do remember him saying he was a rep. You can laugh at him if you want, but he is one big sumbitch. Albeit his bark is bigger than his bite. Funny as hell too.

Yeah, he's a member of the BBBIHA.

For those who don't know, stands for Big Black Brothas In Hockey Association. Only 3 of us.

We usually try not to end up in the same spot during tradeshow time.

I've seen these up close and in person by a player on the Empire Snipers at Tohrs Winter Nationals last January. I think when I got back I posted a question about these but with the change of servers and crash I doubt that thread is still on here.

I've always wanted to try one and I see them on eBay occasionally for around $85-$95 + shipping but I've realized I can get top brand sticks on here for the same price or cheaper so I've passed.

If anyone can give any feedback, I might be interested in picking a couple of these up as I think the black/white paint job they use looks simple but great.

Banks and the rest of the Wings Alumni will be back in town tomorrow night.. We'll see if DB will be toutin the twigs again. Not too big of a roster, Hextal, Norwood, and a bunch of nobodies. Wish I could play, but I gotta work it. Maybe the hockey gods will give me the big head nod.

Edit: Maybe I can talk him into letting me give one a whirl and do a write up review on it on here.

i still have a demo stick from the guy. For anyone around the Michigan area into roller, i know they have about 10 left at Joe Dumars still.

Good stick for the price though. It's not a stealth or a XXXX or anything, but it's a good stick for the $99 price tag. Definitely a good buy.

Dont quite understand the curves. H09 19 23 27.

Would these be clones of NHL/Easton 9-Modano, 19-Sakic, 23-Drury. If so what is 27?

kid on my team knows the guy who owns the company. he has a couple but never uses them. since i am a tender i cannot offer too much more but they seem slightly heavier than the competition for obvious reasons (small time vs. big time)

Well, Banksy didn't show. He called and canceled at the last minute. So I didn't get my chance to bug him for a free demo. But the Alumni game was okay, a few recognizable names, mostly guys who played one or two years in the show, but most of their time in minors. Dennis Hextal was probably the most Notable name. McCegney was there supporting the BBBIHA, who by the way was rollin with an MK3. Guess I'll have to wait till next year to try again.

they seem to be a huge part of the proshop at the rink i skate at in monroe, mi. dont see too many in use from the guys at drop ins and such but they seem feel pretty decent. i could see picking one up if you dont have any back ups and you stick breaks while playing there.. but im familiar with them. that proshop is horrible anyways..
