De-tackifying grip sticks

With so many stick manufacturers using spray grip as a "value added" feature on OPS combined with using a less than common pattern (Drury) I tend to find that I have even less choice due to the fact that I hate the stickiness of grip sticks. Does anyone have any tips on de-tackifying a grip stick?

i'm with Mack on this one.. If you still like too keep the graphics of the stick, just use clear spray paint..

200 or 400 grit sand paper works well too.
