replacing broken bauer XV shaft

Recommended Posts

I broke my bauer XV shaft and I need to get a replacement. As luck would have it I just ordered new blades for it so I need another tapered shaft. Any suggestions? I'm torn between the Bauer Vapor XXX lite and a Warrior Dolomite. Unfortunately, nobody sells them around here so I need to order it online, I like the feel of the vapor xv and I'd like to get something as close as possible.

Went with a Dolomite after I broke several XV's. Great shaft, similar in feel but not exactly the same. I had no problems transitioning to it. I also ended up breaking the Dolomite (after a year and a half) and went back with a couple XV's that I still had and didn't have any problems adjusting back.

well, the dolomite got slashed right in half last night. It lasted about a month and a half. I guess I'll have to try something else. Any suggestions?

Maybe try sticking to NBH. I've heard the ONE90 is a pretty durable shaft.

noicingsport.com from NH claims to do stick repair and work on all composites. I have never used them on the sticks, but they are very consistent on profiling. Just a thought.

He's looking for tapered though.

Sickick

Synergy II

TPS if you can find any

SWD RM19 (not sure if it's tapered)

V-Hex 2

I've heard some good things about the Ballistik 45 and 52 Caliber shafts, I know the 52 is tapered.

i would highly reccomend the V-Hex2. the XV if i recall had quite square corners. the V-hex2 has quite square corners, and its very light. tons of pop on shots and it feels very nice in my hands.

ps

i also have a review on it in the Review section

The XV had somewhat round corners.

The XXX-lite shaft will be a bit more squared off, but definitely usable.

aside from the dolomite, I think the Synergy II/ SE shaft will be the only one with softer, rounded edges.

The dolomite is usually the closest since both shafts (dolo and XV) are basically inno 1100s. You might want to try your luck with a HM pro-stock if they still have your flex, but be forewarned that some of them will come with a different shaft shape.

Most of puckfeel normally comes from the blade, not the shaft.

RM19 is a standard shaft. Very nice tho...
