Superfeet and internal heel lifts

Recommended Posts

No its not redundant but dont use cardboard. You'll have to switch it everyt ime you place because of sweat.

You want a piece of hard foam. When you step into your skate you'll compress the foam just enough for a reasonable lift.

Why would you do this in the first place? What is wrong with your skates to cause you to want to do this? My best suggestion if you ARE going to do such a thing is to either use plastic, or a dense foam. Be sure that the thickness is the same in both skates. Cardboard is just a waste of time. It will get wet, flatten out, smell aweful and maybe even develop mold in your skate.

Soles used to be made of cardboard. If you don't maintain them they will rot out.

Get some plastic or foam. I tell you I've had all sorts of footbeds, even custom Superfeet and my favorite are the Easton S15 Bio-Dris.

My S-15's came with a heel lift in them and I had to take them out, couldn't skate with them. I prefer the Shock Doctor insoles as well.

I assume you are using the Grey Superfeet that are for skates...instead of adding a heel lift under the insole, have you considered purchasing the Green Superfeet insoles? They have a thicker profile at the heel that is made for shock absorption which in turn would give you a little bit of a lift.

However, if you don't feel like spending the money for another pair of Superfeet, then try the plastic or foam. :)

Problem is that Green Superfeet won't match the profile of the skate - they're completely flat from the heel through the arch, whereas the Grey and Black have a heel-toe pitch that lets them get reasonably close to the last of the skate.
