Malkins visor/Ugly attachment on his helmet

Recommended Posts

Why did Malking switch from that nice and cozy 'modern' visor to this: http://www.icewarehouse.com/descpage.html?pcode=NBVIS ? Other then the obvious that he's got a deal with NBH. Buuut, Crosby's got a deal with RBK and he wears an Oakley. Someone's going to come back with something along the lines of....RBK doesen't make a visor...but there has to be other guys who wear a different visor and the company there with is a parent company or makes there own visors?

I don't think it's fair to compare Crosby and Malkin because their contracts probably have different terms with the companies they have signed with. For example, Crosby had a Sherwood stick. Therefore, he didn't have to use RBK gear selectively. Maybe Malkin does and that is why he is wearing it. Anyways, if he really had a problem with it then they would probably just make him an SMU with NBH's logo on it and just have him use this in the meantime.

RBK and Oakley Hockey are part of the same company.

Wrong.

Oakley makes visors - RBK/CCM distributes it for them. Not the same thing.

My bad I was under the impression they were owned by THC since there was an Oakley page on CCM's old website if im not mistaken, but them being the distributor for them makes sense.

Actually I think he wears an Itech HLC smile.gif Musta picked up on it from playing with Sykora or something

I think your right, if you look at Sykora'a helmet it looks the very same. Malkin's going ol'school look. Next step big tongues hanging way out on his skates

It was the result of the patent infringement lawsuit on the Jofa Image visor. It became the Oakley 2.0.

Wait, what? Who infringed on whose patent? Oakley ripped off Jofa's visor, so THC became their distributor? This doesn't make sense to me.

It's not that bad of a combo, at least he's not rocking the goofy straps with it.

Ah but if only he rocked the goofy straps. That would really take it to a whole new level.

Heh, and not wear shoulder pads and bring a case of Miller Lite for postgame in the parking lot.

Ah the NHL, so close to being beer league, yet so, so far.

I've seen a few beer leagues that had better management.

I don't mind the visor as it reminds me of the old school Bourque visor.

That visor looks retarded

thank you SJshakrs11. I mean for the love of God the Russian has access to any visor he wants, even no visor would be better for goodness sake's. But, he's still learning the language so maybe he got tricked into something, or lost a bet.

A lot of NHLers like some perculiar equipment. It's just an individual trait. It's the same way with a lot of regular guys. There are just certain pieces of equipment you grow accustomed to and wouldn't part with for the world. It becomes part of a ritual to always wear it.

Maybe it's just a visor, and he doesn't care how you think he looks. He can see through it, and it protects his eyes, so what's the difference if it doesn't really look cool?
