Lowest Ever Act

Recommended Posts

Last night I was playing a game in a rink that still has net instead of plexi glass. One of our players got hit in the knee and went down. A fan was screaming at our player who was clearly hurt to "get the f*&k up, you F*&%ing faker"

I went over to him and told him to show some respect then he spat in my face and managed to punch another team mate in the helmet!

I think i was so shocked i had spit on my visor (and below) that I didnt wrap my stick around his head but looking back it was the smart thing to do!

What would you guys of done?

Where the hell does he get off spitting in your face? That 'fan' must have had some balls, because hockey players generally are not the 'least' violent people in situations like this. I'm glad you didn't wrap your stick around his head, I don't think I would have had that kind of self control.

I would've had a few choice words for him, or invited him to come onto the ice and show you all how a man plays... chances are he's not a player if he's shouting moronic stuff like that. Hitting him wouldn't be worth the suspension from the rink, IMO.

Fans, even when the do shit like that, aren't worth the time, energy or consequences. I wouldn't have done anything - I'm playing the game, he's watching; that should tell you something right there.

Seen a LOT worse than that. Nothing you can really do about it other than hope they get thrown out of the rink.

I played a game this year that ended in a big fight... a guy from the opponet team checked that the ref's were pre-ocupied (3 different fights going on around the rink)...

Then proceded to slash one of my teammates in the head, while he was on his knees...

That's the lowest act I've ever seen.

Wow, way to show restraint! Jeez.

To add to the awful stories. We were playing in a college roller tournament and some B teams were finishing up as we got there. One of the guys two handed a guy in the back and broke his stick just before the handshake line. It was insane.

I blame parenting. :P

Great post from " Super-ref"...

At least you have some sembelance of scruples in THIS thread!!!

Did that fan OMIT his referee status to the league?

RETHINK YOUR POSTS!!!

You have just contradicted yourself!

Sorry for being a prick, but..

Are you, the guy that announced that you covered for a ref that, physically assaulted, a player and YOU in fact, LIED at the hearing!?

Did you mislead the league (which you represent) regarding physical assault and battery?

You do realize that in the U,S. , you are, in fact an accomplice, don't you?

Thought I would just keep you guys updated. The guy was actually a healthy scrath for the team and had too many bears. He has been released and banned from the rink. Wich is kind of a shame because I would of rather they played him next time we meet!

The club released an appologie condoning his actions and praising my team-mates and my actions but I still feel bad for not putting the guy in an ambulance even though I know I did the right thing!

Dont you guys just hate it when you have a fight or a chirping session and you lay in bed all night after the game thinking "i should of said this, i should of done that!"

Haha, oh wow, you're hilarious. Yeah, that fight really would constitute as "battery". It was more to tout their "toughness" rather than hurt each other. Both the player and the ref are "tough guys", you see. Think what you may, but I also didn't lie. I, honestly, answered every question the INTRAMURAL STAFF asked me... there was no hearing. I wonder where you got this crazy idea. There was no court.

Additionally, the ref was also brought to justice as of last night when they asked me about the incident again (I got a slap on the wrist). "Accomplice", you really give me a kick.

P.S. Stay on topic with the thread. If you have an issue with me, take it up in personal messages.

Smaile9 - if hindesight was foresight we'd all be millionaires.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda stuff isn't worth thinking about .... He's a jack ass who got scratched any way, now he's done for good .... until he signs up with some other team. It's times like that when rink owners and leagues need a communciation forum in your geography to ensure that guy can't lace up skates again.

You did the right thing by not sinking to his level, too many beers or not there is no excuse for spitting but it does say a lot about his character ( or lack of it ) and you not retaliating says a lot about yours. You took the high road by not sinking to his level and I for one say fair play to you, you did the right thing.Simply put idiots like that are not worth the effort . :)

had a fan spit in the face of one of our players after he had just nailed the opposing player and was digging the puck out from underneath him in the corner. Stace didnt take this to kindly and punched the guy straight in the face through the net, stacy was chucked out of the game and the fan ejected from the rink.

Stacy did not receive a suspension of any kind as the ref saw the whole incident occur, we later found out the fan was the dad of the kid Stacy nailed.

You're a joke.

On topic you must have to greatest self control ever. Good call. This is one of thsoe situations where if you had of retaliated you would be jumped on for doing so. But you also face the comments of I can't believe you did nothing. Good for you for doing the right thing.
