Was looking for pond skates

Recommended Posts

Was bored early this evening and walked into a sports consignment shop to look for some pond skates. Found a whole rack of Rbk pro sticks, pro return (I think?) gloves and some skates. Ended up getting almost new Graf 301s for $105. They had not even been sharpened yet. Tried on the Supreme 8000/One90 type skate..I was surprised at how roomy they were for a Supreme skate on my foot. The gloves were priced from $59.99 to $99.00

Those skates are beat all to hell. If I was to pay the $150 asking price for them, I'd take the ballistic nylon off the toecap completely since one of the skates has a big chunk ripped off the nylon toecap...Oh yea, they're around a 9.5. They are obviously custom, but listed at 9.5, but possibly a 9.5E or a 9.25..Who knows? Go try them on if you're in the area.

I've talked to the guy that runs that store. Periodically they get unloaded on from the Wild.

Tsangas? I see they had a few Graf 703s and 705s in pretty good shape...They also sell new equipment, but probably have around 500 pairs of skates in consignment and a large number of Grafs, and quite a few in minty condition. As for the S9 skates dressed up to look like a One90, I dont think those were a MN Wild dump off, but a local trade in?

Sure, now they have them. When I bought my G3's, I checked with them and they didn't have may adult-sized Grafs at all.

I may have to drop by to check out those gloves, however. Green is not my color of choice.

I'd LOVE to have a pair of those skates but I take a 7D....

I'm gonna stop by tomorrow and check out their inventory. I live in Maple Grove so its a bit of a drive for me.

I severly envy being down here in Tampa where the best play it again for hockey stuff basically just has about 5 different highend sticks.

What size are the s9's ?

Listed at 9.5. They're obviously a custom skate so they could be wider than your average 9.5D Bauer skate, they certainly felt wider..Probably because they've been baked already and worn?

if you're looking for Bauer S9's, try calling TSR Sports in Salem NH. That is where I bought mine, and they may still have some.

Those are nice gloves, I believe there were 2-3 of the Koivu gloves and an older model with a #33 and "Kuba" stitched onto them. I liked the Nike/Bauer SDPros or whatever they are called..Super comfy and light. If they are comfortable, thats all that matters to me

epstud,

Thanks to you, I have been separated from more of my money. It's all your fault - I now own these.

The SDP/Pros were way too roomy for my taste, although I loved how they felt. I have relatively thin hands, but a guy with thicker hands would fit perfectly.

No Graf skates in my size (I was looking just to satisfy my curiosity). But there were a couple custom Graf's that could have come from the Wild. I saw a pair of 11-3/4 custom 703's...those are some huge skates. I once saw 11-3/4 Grafs on eBay marked Skoula.

I wish I was a bigger guy so I could rock the Koivu prostocks. He's my favorite player...

I tried those "Koivu" gloves on. Great feeling, but huge. They were marked 15", but I swear they felt bigger.
