Pants

Recommended Posts

I am in need of new pants due to the fact that my ccm tacks that are like 3-4 years old are too small and falling apart..

Im wondering what people have to say about which pants that were most mobile and not as bulky to them?

NBH Supreme one90. Hands down the most mobile pants I've ever tried on, let alone owned. Protection is where it needs to be and weight is not an issue.

Gotta agree with you, had a pair, sold them cause I needed cash, now I'm waiting for my backordered second pair to ship. These original Vapor 10s are just too old...

Here's another vote for the one90's.

I shopped for new pants back in August, trying on the one90's, Easton Stealth S9's, and an RBK pair (forget which model). The one90's were very light and trim; no excess bulk. The Eastons aren't bad in that department, either.

I just picked up a pair of 9k's last night, and I never thought a breezer could be so mobile. They are basically a girdle / shell, with removable protection, so you can have as much, or as little padding as you wish. I can't tell the diff. between wearing these, or wearing sweat pants.

i really liked my winwell G-lite's that i used to have. they are very light and mobile and offer good (but not great) protection. they are on clearance right now for $43 for senior sizes. its a great deal and i would have bought another pair but i recently bought some tacklas. i believe winwell is perani's generic brand. you can try them on if you have a peranis near you.

I have had the RBK 8k's and now 9k's and they are by far the most flexible/mobile pants I have tried on in the store and trust me, I tried them all on. The 9k's are slightly heavier than the 8k's but if you can tell a difference on the ice well then my hat's off to you because I can't even tell a difference trying them on in my house.

:werd: I was in the Hockeygiant warehouse store for literally 45mins trying on almost every different girdle / shell, and pant they had, and the 9k fit the best by far, and was the most mobile pant of all, by far. If you have the $, go for it.

Any thoughts on the Mission Fuel series from those of you that have tried on every pair in your stores?

Just to give you an idea my on-ice warmup includes a split to each side and a strattle and the one90 pants don't restrict my stretching at all.

The 8k's were the best fit on me. I've always worn traditional breezers in the past, and the tight girdle fit of these seemed like a godsend the first time I tried them on.

I agree with the comfort and weight. My only problem is that mine are falling apart. There was a thread on the Rbk pants getting torn apart a week or two ago. I have the 6k pants and they're comfortable and mobile, but they're dying on me.

i've got 8k's also. i love the fit, but the mesh on the leg pads is falling apart and the pants are barely holding together. i'm probably going to try the one90's next.

Although it is kinda inexcusable with the 9k pants falling apart, it is just the shell right? So you can still go out and buy a XXX shell for 30 bucks and it should solve the issue no?

I wear the Easton Stealth S1. It is very comfortable and not bulky. For $40 it is a good option if you do not need alot of protection.

Nike Bauer XV lite pants...they are really light and slim fitting

Definitley agree. Im rockin a pair myself and they're just so fitted and light that I don't think I'll ever change. Only downside is the protection is not that much compared to something like the One90. But for the price, you cant go wrong.

I really like the fit and mobility of my new Easton S9's, but I've got holes ripped in the crotch gusset after 5 skates! Anyone else have durability problems with Easton pants?

Any Nike Bauer pant....Do not listen to whoever suggested RBK's, they are tank-esque.

Gotta agree with this one. I was told by numerous people the same. I was talked out of buying a pair by a proshop and was told they were heavy. The One-90 is a good pant and I was talked into the One-90's. I haven't bought them yet but, I am pretty much sold on them. Good Luck.

North American fit go with the RBK 6K, Nike/Bauer XV or the Easton Stealth S-5. The Eastons will feel a bit bulky until they break in but offer great protection. Once they loosen up their not bad.

European fit go with the Tackla 951's or the Graf 500's. I prefer this fit because the pant only feels tight around the waist area while the bottom which flares out a bit is usually very mobile. Not as protective as top end North American pants but adequate for most levels of hockey.
