Oakley 2.0 Visor

Recommended Posts

I am just wondering...does anyone actually use this visor in the NHL? I am just hoping to see some picture of what this visor looks like on an actual helmet worn by a player, i.e. some in-action picture of this visor.

I notice that most NHL'er either go with the aviator or the pro cut. Can anyone with some experience with this visor give me some feedbacks? Thanks a lot.

Wrong. No NHLer (that I've ever seen) is wearing that...thing. For some reason I think I remember seeing a shots of some guys playing in some of the Euro leagues rocking it, though.

Just wondering why they are so unpopular...I can't find any picture of someone using it either. Considering picking up one from a fellow MSH'er... so any feedback/review would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Tons of people in euro pro leagues use it, some are starting to ditch it purely on looks.

In Sweden most of the Eliteserie (top league) players were wearing it under the original "Jofa" name.

Good ventilation, Good Vision.

The only thing I don't like about it is that the visor sits pretty far from the head, i.e. there is a really big gap between your visor and face.

Back in my equip manager days, in 03-04 to be more specific, every player on my team wore this visor. Of course back then it was the Jofa version, before it became the Oakley 2.0, but I didn't have any significant complaints about it other than it's "bug eyed" look. Overall a pretty decent visor but it runs the same price as the other Oakley's so when faced with that choice most people get the others - straight cut/aviator/etc.

yeah i almost got one from my lhs a while back when comparing it with the pro straight. The worker at the shop said that most refs go with that visor since its certified, so its more of a reffing visor they said. I ended up going with the pro straight

I actually use this visor and i love it. Never fogs up (unless you're playing in a really crappy arena in the woods or something)...great ventilation too. I don't have any "action" pics for you though. I just like the fact that it at least protects half of your face instead of those smaller ones (I guess I'm just a wimp when it comes to getting a puck or stick in the face) :)

The 2.0 was widely used by players in the SEL (swedish elite leauge) a few years back.. Now you don't see them very often. Still very popular among the Swedish refs though.........

This is the visor Colin White's wearing since coming back from the eye injury, right?

I thought he was wearing the Aviator, but then I could be wrong.

That looks more like the one Heatley's got.

I believe you're right, with sawed off vents just like Heater.

Does anyone know if it's safe to use the Oakley AFR cleaner on the Jofa Image visor? I just picked up the pro cut model (Jofa branded) and I was hoping to use the Oakley cleaner that I have left over. I don't know if they used the same coatings on the lens on these ones as they do on the newer Oakley ones. Thanks in advance.
