stix04 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2004 Thats not why i dont play it, i dont particularly care for it, and im fat, so i couldnt handle it probably. If i had to pick to play a sport with alot of running, I'd go with Lacrosse. Thats just me though.
zeffg 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2004 How can you play hockey and be fat. I understand that many fat people play hockey but they are never any good. Are you good? How fat are you? What level do you play at?
#1STUD 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2004 I was playing pick up hockey with this fat guy once and he was awesome. He had one of the best slapshots i have ever seen. It was quick and very accurate. I mean we were playing post and he would wind up from like 20 or 30 feet away and nail post everytime. It was incredible.
Stampeder 2 Report post Posted August 1, 2004 Our goalies fat, and pretty much every other goalie around here. There alright.
asdfa 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2004 its that kind of system that creates players like theo fleury. he can deke through the US national team and the goalie but always hits the post (2002 olympics)but on the subject of fat people, i've played with some people who were fat, relatively short but were fast, agile, good heads up players with soft hands and shots that can knock someone out. but i agree with zeffg to a certain extent, fat people (actually fat, like round fat) tend to be lazy and poor hockey players

asdfa 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2004 other's hit like rosie o'donnellbut isn't hitting mostly about speed and stuff, not all about weight? not many chunky charlies can skate fast
Speed Demon 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2004 I think that soccer is a much more dangerous sport then hockey because you are fully protected in gear when it comes to hockey but in soccer you have crazy people that like to do slide tackles and break your legs, break your ankles, sprain your knees, sprain your ankles, all that dumb stuff. For now I can't risk having any more injuries to my legs that I have already had, that is why I quit rugby half way through this season. Hockey and long distance running is all I do now. stix04 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2004 I'm 14, 5'5" 180 lbs. I play Bantam A, first line Center to give you an idea. Led my teams in goals and assist last 4 seasons. I'm not a fatass kid who sits around eating cupcakes. I'm built, my fat just covers my muscles, but you can still see when i flex. Just look at it this way, i'm fat, but I've found a way to stay in hockey shape during baseball season, then in the middle of hockey season i also play basketball. So basically, I'm an active, inshape fatboy. And o ya, I have a rep for laying the big kids out :-D

stix04 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2004 Imagine how many goals you'd have if you got in shape... unless your fat gives you an advantage? Thats what my dad said, but i think the weight gives me an advantage, cause no one can move me when i cut to the net after burning defensemen. Losing weight would give me an advantage in all my oter sports, but not hockey.
