Christain/Harrow stick customizer.

It's "one piece performace with 2 piece value" i.e. it's a shaft blade combo (that performs equal to a OPS.... NOT)

And My custom stick isn't availble, what a joke. So they are giving me 4 different options that are close to the one I typed in.

I think 365g is for the shaft only; you'd need to add a blade (180g approx) to get a closer "stick' weight!

It being just the shaft weight was my thought, too. But, like Patrick says it specifically says that it's an OPS. Thus, according to what they're saying, it should be the weight. I am guessing those expecting the lightest stick known (at 365 grams) will be disappointed if a more pudgy 545 gram stick shows up at their door.

Not mine either. For me, I guess they don't offer the concave in a 110 with a powder grip (didn't try different variations to see if I could get the 110 concave with a glossy or gloss-grip though). However, still pretty cool. A concept quite similar to that of the Nike/Bauer ID program.

I don't say it claims to be an OPS, or it is an OPS. I'm just refering to their lame-ass marketing that claims (I.E) that their Shaft/Blade combo performs like a OPS.

1. Tapered shaft and blade does perform the same as an OPS. In fact Inno used to flat out admit as much in their materials. The Christian stuff of the last couple years wasn't top level performance but it was more durable than anything I've seen on the market over the last few years.

2. As was mentioned in the last topic on this program, there was a naming conflict that popped up at the last minute that is causing some delays. I'll ask David to give us an update.

Chadd, I know you have a lot of personal experience with Christian (that's where you ordered your custom blades, right?).

SO, can you comment on the 365 gram angle?

ALSO, on a more personal basis - how similar is their P4 (which claims to be a toe) to the Shanny/P10gagne, Bozek/Cole type blade?

the P4 by all accounts is a rbk datsyuk/ ccm recchi clone - shorter plade and more of a mid than the shanny

I picked up one of the new blades with the new Harrow font. I don't have any of the older ones to compare it to, but it seems thinner, about the same as a Synergy II blade. I don't have a scale, but the weight seems about the same as the Synergy II as well even with a longer hosel.

I bought my customs from them and we also did a lot of business with them in my shop. Good people and very good service whenever I called. It wouldn't surprise me if that is shaft only, because they use the actual weight of a very long shaft. It's not XN10-ish in weight, but their sticks are very durable.

I actually have a slightly used LH comp #4 at the house that a teammate traded in on another stick I had. It's not a Shanny clone by any means. It is much more of a toe than any Recchi I've ever seen though. I'll do what I can to get a pic up in the next couple days.

I have some Harrow tapered blades that i think have this powder coating. It is kind of like those grippy papermate ball point pens.

So its a rubber grip with a different finish? Sounds nice.
It's not rubber and it's not sticky, just a slightly gritty matte type finish.

Its like a VERY non ebrasive low grain grip. Closest thing I can think of is the grittyness of a brown cardboard box. I love grip on my sticks (I think Bauer's stickum is made of Gods snot itself) and I find that the powder grip is perfect. The more pressure you put the harder it grips.. if that makes any sense. Mine lasted about a year before I had to candy stripe my shaft. Not bad considering my bauer stickums last a few months.

The funny thing is that I hate tacky grips, but I like the powder grip as well. When we first opened our shop and got in some of the old Christian stuff with the powder grip it was very popular. I was disappointed to see it go away.

I was sad when I heard that harrow was "going away". I thought that they were going back to just lacrosse gear. It amazes me the detail and worksmanship that went into what a lot of people considered a price point budget stick.

The powder grip was my entry drug into the harder stuff lol.

In case anyone was 'following along from home' and was curious regarding the answer as to weight and variation/combination availability, I wrote Harrow the following question:

QUES: I noticed on your customizer link for the 300 (http://www.harrowsports.com/300/) one piece hockey stick, it says that a one piece 300 hockey stick weighs 365 grams. Is that right? My guess is that it's wrong and is just the weight of the shaft.

Would you happen to be able to provide the actual full weight (including blade)?

Also, I was trying to get a specific pattern (P4), with a concave shaft, and powder grip in a 110 flex but seem unable to be able to do so. Will this possibly be available at a later date?

Thanks in advance.

and I got this answer:

I apologize for any confusion regarding the actual weight of the finished product. The blade will add approximately 160 grams, which brings the complete weight to 525 grams. The specific combination you are looking for may be available at some point in the future, but it will not be offered this season. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.

Sorry for the delayed post. My wife prohibited me from doing anything hockey-related over the holiday.

A few things to note on the 300 Series:

1. We did have some naming issues with the shaft. We were going to call it the Infinity, but that name is trademarked and we changed it to the 300-Series. As a result of this change, our production on this program has been somewhat delayed. Our next shipment will arrive by the first of February and many of the glitches will be corrected by then. Sorry for the inconvenience.

2. The program very clearly states that it is a custom 2-piece. The only reference to it being a one-piece is when describing the performance. This combination is tapered and truly plays like a one-piece, with the financial benefits of a two-piece. We are not trying to deceive or mislead anybody in any way.

3. Our IT guys are not hockey guys, therefore content on our web site might seem odd on occasion. The 300 series shaft weighs 365 grams. When connected with our blade, the total weight is 525 grams. This is a mistake that will be corrected on the web site shortly.

4. Our shaft is a 75/25 graphite/fiberglass split. We could have made the shaft 100% graphite, but we have found through our testing that the 25% fiberglass gives a softer and more responsive feel. You’d be surprised as to how many sticks in the industry are not 100% graphite.

5. The analogy of our powder grip feeling like a cardboard box is the best I've heard in the 6 years I've been with the company! BK...we have a Director of Marketing position available. Perhaps you should forward us your résumé!

6. The 300 series is not just a great product that we believe in, but it is also a fantastic customer intelligence tool. It gives us the opportunity to learn more about our customers. Through this tool we can evaluate the most popular colors, flexes, and blades that our customers are interested in. Every time you go onto our web site and create a combination that is not available, we register that request and use it for future purchase order consideration. For example, quite a few people have requested the Christian Special Edition design in a powder finish (something we had not planned on stocking). Because of the popularity of the request, we have decided to add this shaft.

If anybody else has questions, feel free to post.
