Recommended Posts

any body know where I can get a pair of 16" 9040 shin pads?

I searched google pretty intensly and I could not find them. Some websites say they have them, but if you try to order them... You can't...

Anyone got any leads?

You're going to have a really hard time finding Jofa gear period. At least new Jofa gear. Your best bet is to look at the RBK stuff as they bought Jofa.

Last night I was at my LHS and I spotted some Jofa shin pads, so I took a look at them and I found a pair of 16'' 9040. I tried them on and they fit perfect so I had to buy them.

I believe they only had one pair of them, but I can check for you and see if they have any left.

Jofa 9090 = RBK 9K/8K

Jofa 9080 = RBK 7K

Jofa 9060 = RBK 6k

Jofa 9040 = RBK 5K

This is a relatively close comparison of the older Jofa line to the newer RBK line. RBK still uses the Anotomical System Design (ASD) and Joint Displacement Principal (JDP) that Jofa researched and designed. There are minor differences with the features of the pad but they are basically still the same shin pad.

If not, please let me know if they have any next time you are at rink...

RBK added alot of back leg protection... I like the Jofa shape, but not all the back leg coverage...

You could always cut off the back leg stuff if you wanted.

On the 5k and 9k the "back leg" protection is just attached by velcro, and (obviously) easily removeable.

Wow, you just blew my mind!

I dont live near any good hockey shops so this info is appreciated

Is the same true of the 6k Fitlite series? or the 7k(Found some on sale)?

The fitlite stuff is going to be way different. It uses 2 straps in front of the shin instead of having a traditional padded layer against the majority of your shin. They did this to increase ventilation but when I tried it on it felt really weird and too shallow for me.

I wear Jofa 5500s and just went up to a pair of 7500's I found on clearance.
