GoBucky 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2011 Goal celebrations like these might not be best in your weekly beer league game:
chippa13 1844 Report post Posted February 1, 2011 I think this stuff is hard for Cherry to understand, because when he was truly involved with the game, it was played primarily by working class people who weren't getting rich off it, and had nothing to gain by self marketing. Companies making sticks named as a euphamism for someone's wang, and flashy youtube clips overcelebrating something aren't something Don has much background on, because until recently, it really was more of a team game, and less about the individual marketing themselves in the new media.I think the bolded sums it up. As for the rest, it still is a team game. Anyone playing who thinks otherwise just doesn't get it.
black hills tj 5 Report post Posted November 1, 2011 I couldn't resist showing something my buddy sent me the other night.Ultimate Celebration at 1:09Reeder and Smale both play for the Rapid City Rush here in my hometown, and Reeder still slides on his head and pumps his fists. I laughed pretty good the first time I saw it.
Vulcan7905 88 Report post Posted November 6, 2011 Every time I score its a "Yeah!" with a very humble stick raise, bench glove bumps then back to the faceoff or onto the bench. Just not one to go insane but it does feel good to put that puck into the net when people still doubt I should be playing or that I can play at my weight. Wallzy41 9 Report post Posted November 11, 2011 Is it wrong if you do a modest one for a 1st goal, but your teammates mob you and go overboard?
RussianDangler15 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2011 For me its really dependent on the level of play. In travel yea I'm going to celebrate, higschool maybe a little unless its a sick goal, and if its house league not a chance.
danno25nh 3 Report post Posted November 12, 2011 Act like you've done it before. Accept the fist bumps from your team mates and get ready for the face off.
Powerfibers 8 Report post Posted November 12, 2011 Don't ever say, "suck on that one!" after banging one in. I tried that tonight and got a wicked slash to the knee. LOL! Heck it was the first goal of the game and they were a bit whiney! Then we proceeded to take a penalty when the captain, who objected to the slash, took a roughing penalty during the ensuing face off by hitting the slasher. We won 7-2. I honestly don't think I have ever played better. But, I wish I would have been more modest upon scoring. Regret the celebration totally.
Slapshot9123 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2011 I've never been one to go over the top. Just raise my arms, skate by the bench tap gloves then line up or change. Never done anything else my entire life.
