mickz 107 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 There's too many factors involved. Color, material, fit, palms. If you like the Bauer fit but don't want to spend the money to get the XX or XXX, the X and XV are both very good value gloves for your money.

dix0r 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 playing in a non-check league doesn't matter much for gloves! players slash at pretty much all levels :]NBH 4-Rolls clock in at about $90TPS R8 Pro Lite are around $100the nikes are a lot looser fitting than the TPS. both are pretty mobile and have plastic inserts for good protection. i have a a couple older but similar models of TPS gloves, and the current 4-rolls. i prefer the tighter fit but it's definitely PP. Stripermaster 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 Thanks MickZ -You are correct.... Manufacturer overload..... There are 1 million different gloves out there.....I assume most of the common brands are good quality....?That is why I posted this question.... I will have to hit the hockey store and try some on and then go to Hockey_Monkey.... and do the deed.....Thanks !!
dnoboy 5 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 The RBK/CCM Nylon Pro Stocks at the www.thehockeyshop.com are the best deal i've seen. They run between $70-$80.
dix0r 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 almost all manufactures have high and low end gloves, so don't go with one brand over another for that reason. i think main factors in level of protection would be presence of plastic inserts, and something to prevent thumb from bending back, both of which most high end gloves would have.fit is personal preference, as far as how tight you like them on the back of your hand. differences in mobility are pretty noticeable.palm is a combination of durability and personal preference for feel. really there's not that much to worry about. buy some good gloves with decent protection on closeout and save the extra money for skates or sticks! my first two suggestions we're just based on the $100 bar...but i got my mission M1's for $40 and they were tanks. Thats how I always convince myself to by more expensive equipment haha. I have vapor XXX's and by far the best glove I have ever used.

Andoy 5 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 Thanks MickZ -You are correct.... Manufacturer overload..... There are 1 million different gloves out there.....I assume most of the common brands are good quality....? Welcome to the board. It's all PP. Split fingers doesn't necessary mean that they are the best. You'll find that lots of members on this board and even some nhlers prefer regular fingers and vice versa. The higher the price the more features are built in the glove such as added inserts and a different palm. Again it's not necessarily a good thing depending on the level you play. You might find that mid-range gloves offer more due to increased durability (because most high-end palms wear out pretty fast) and mobility (due to lack of hard plastic inserts). Can't really go wrong with any of the gloves out in the market right now. Just try what feels best and go from there. That is why I posted this question.... I will have to hit the hockey store and try some on and then go to Hockey_Monkey.... and do the deed.....Thanks !!I would avoid doing that. You'll find that using your LHS as a 'fitting room' is really frowned upon in this board.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 It's all about fit for me. Finger lengths are different for every manufacturer and every 14" glove seems to fit a little differently from every other 14" glove. I'm a big fan of trying on everything and everything, but if you find the right fit in your local shop, why not just buy it from them?
stick9 903 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 After you get done paying for shipping and handling, the cost difference will be minimal. If you get them at you local shop. You can get and use them right away, no waiting for your order to come. Big plus in my mind.Big fan of Eagles myself, but for lower price gloves. There are a few Eastons I would look at as well as the NBH One70's. Depends on what you like fit wise.

Doctor Hook 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 I back NBH 4rolls, they fit your budget and are a good investment, but highly suggest you try them on because the sizing is different from what you may or may not be familiar with.
kabby15 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 4 rolls all the way. best value, comfort, protection. cant ask for more in that price range.
lampliter87 8 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 what do you look for in a glove? different gloves fit differently, with the major difference being looser with more volume (eagles, nbh 4-rolls) or more snug (nbh supreme series, warriors, etc.)
BMcDonald19 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 4-roll no doubt
shifter 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 if you choose the nike bauer route for the money 4-roll or a pair of supreme 50 or 70 would be great for the price!
Archangel#16 1 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 i agree with shifter. I had the supreme 70's then moved to the 4 rolls. Whichever glove you chose of those is a great glove and worth your money for sure.
B-Nads 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 I would suggest 4-Rolls, R8's, or M1 Pro's if either of them fit. If you want the higher cuffs on the wrists, then the nylon 9k's are nice, but they are a bit more expensive.

bekster 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 I currently use Easton Airs (2004 model, those with wrist wrap II).They fit nice volume wise but the fingers are slightly too short (size 14).Can anybody compare the fit of the NBH 4-Rolls to the Easton Airs? They cost 190 EUR (=$277) in germany so no shop around carrys them and I cant try them on ...
