Vapor 10 Skates?

Recommended Posts

I tried using the search so please don't jump down my throat, but if I put in vapor Xskate it was too short, and vapor ten skate gave no results...if i just put in vapor skates there's like 1,365,438 topics :) ...so he's my question...my father in law just came across a pair of Vapor X skates, looks like new old stock from like 2002. They were priced at 399, but he got them for less than half that....I'm trying to find out anything i can on these skates, they are brand new in box, and the literature with them makes it seem like they were kinda high end back in the day (?) I know they are heat modable, but thats about all I can find out about them...anybody ever have a pair? durability/peformance issues? basically any info on them would be great....

edit: ntwusc had it right, they are vapor 10 nor vapor X ( i thought that was the same thing..)

i actually have gone through a couple pair of vapor x's. they were actually pretty decent skates. overall a good skate, but certainly not worth $399...

correct me if i'm wrong, but you had the v's, the x's, the xv's and the xx's in that order for that model year. the x's were geared torward the intermediate skater with everything above them being more "advanced."

Are you talking about these?

If so, they're Vapor 10's, not X's, and they were top of the line when they came out.

The vapor 10's were and still are a quality skate...Even though newer lighter models have come out and yes the technology on some newer skates is pretty good, those vapor 10's are still outstanding skates...They are tanks and will last you a few years at least...I would say you got a pretty good deal asuming they are a brand new pair...

You definitely got a good deal, I loved the Vapor 10's, had 3 pairs of them. They were the last skate I had that would stand up to a full season (skating 6-7 times a week) without needing to be replaced.

Are those triangular holes in the runners? They look like new in that picture, doesn't look like it could take many sharpenings before it hits the holes and be rendered useless.

That's some of the best steel ever made on, for my money, the best boots I've ever worn. Just found myself a new pair a couple months ago and POUNCED on them.

I've got lucky and got a pair of prostock 10s on here a couple years ago. They've held up really well, I mean there's normal knicks and some threads shredded a bit, but hasn't affected anything. Best fitting boot I've had and I can see myself wearing these for many more years playing twice a week.

Just noticed a pair of size 9 pro stock Mogiln's on Ebay if anyone is interested. (not my auction) Looks like they have a nice leather liner.

i missed a pair of Vapor 10 boots on ebay from EWH for $50. Perfect for me 9 left skate 8.5 right skate, totally forgot about the auction! Oh well.

I am not good enough to need top of the line skate, but those are some of the best looking boots in my opinion.
