PUCK IN THE CROTCH, HELP!

Recommended Posts

Whatever you do, just be sure you wear one. My buddy accidentally left his at home a few weeks ago and he ended up in the operating room. His testicle was shattered. They did manage to repair it and he is on his way to recovery.

How in the hell do you repair a "shattered" testicle?

I'll ask him tomorrow. All I know is that the doc said that it was legendary.

You should see the scar.

Wait, have you seen the scar AKA his apple bag? All righty then.

hahaha, legendary

My Vapor XX pants (and any other pant that I've owned/used) do/have not had the padding on the inner thigh. Most of my deep bruises come on the inner thigh.

When you know you might be facing a shot, put a hand up over the family jewels... I wear a cup and still do that. I think an ounce of prevention here is worth, well, a pound of gold.

:D This is too funny, can we get some pics of those shattered nuts?

Always wear protection when on the ice.

superglue

superglue might not cut it. I think we deffinetly need to bring in some carpenter's glue, maybe even a hot glue gun and a pair of plyers to hold his peaches together till the glue dries. Trust me it's not a pretty scene.

Yes I have seen the scar. There is nothing strange about that. He shows everyone.

Oh, he seems to be a .. funny guy.

OK, just as heads up, I always put a second hand down when I block. I play lefty, so my second hand is left.

I have a pair of 2007 CCM 892s in front of me, and there is no padding up front, just a small patch of foam behind the string loops.

As for the cups, jeweels, etc.If you ever take a shot, or cup slides the jewels the wrong way when you climb over the board, remember, if you jewel twists inside its bag, blood will eventually stop flowing, and it only takes 6 hours before you are 50% steer.

Just a positive thought before your second drink.I think I will have to take some hi-density phoam and get creative on compression shorts.

Will update you with a progress.

O RLY?

And, FYI, that Warrior 'Nutt Hutt' is nothing but a re-branded Shock Doctor Bioflex cup. :(

I know but a Nut Hut is a better name, funnier.

Kind of a matter of opinion on that one.

Wear a goalie cup! I did when I was a kid playing, no joke. My dad bought me this big old white Cooper goal cup when I was just starting to play because he didn't know the difference. The top of it came up to my navel, the bottom tip stuck out in the crotch of my Cooperalls. The kids teased me something aweful, but I still wore it. Eventually I asked for a normal one when the bruising in my thighs became too much to take.

All, I ended up keeping the CCM 892s.Got a pair of 2006 692s and took the overlapping front wing pads off of them. I think 492 have the same ones, or maybe a bit thinner, not sure. Had them sown in on the 892s. Feels very strong.

Have not had any blocks with new "upgrade" yet, but my wife does say that I look alot more substantial :-).

Not the jewels, please read the thread. My problem was with large gaps between the cup and where the padding on the pants start. That is where I took a puck. Just higher up from the cup and to the side.

I didn't know pants made a huge difference in preventing damage to the family jewels.

I'm happy with my Shock Doc cup :)

Had a very close call only a couple weeks ago...

I wear the Bauer BDP girdle, and for about 6 months I did not wear a cup. Not very smart on my part but I got away with it. It affected my play, because everytime someone would wind up...I would put a hand in front of the jewels.

So I decided that it was time to pop the shockdoctor back on. That very night I got in front of a shot and "ding"...right in the special spot. I found myself a lot more aggressive and I played very well. A helmet on each head certainly seems to increase confidence.
