I've got a pair of Matthew Barnaby pro stock Eastons. But I bought them to use... kind of a nice collectable too.

As kids we used a baseball signed by the original Montreal Expos after school one afternoon-kid who brought it out didn't play with us for the next few weeks.

if something is pro stock, as many hear have described them I see no issue playing with it, if you have something that is valuable to you and has an authentic signature then you'd have to be crazy to use it unless its from a no name NHL'er

would I wear anything signed by Cam Neely? HELL NO

I used to wear a jersey signed by a bunch of players from the 96 world championships. (and still use it as my back-up, white, jersey for pick-up games)

There used to be autographs from guys like Yashin, Zhitnik, Turek, Reichel, Valeri Bure etc.

If I'm lucky i might be able to find one or two of these autographs these days.

Usually because of the price tag I've stayed away from buying memorabilia and using it as gear even though I have wanted to. I really would like to buy something like that and use the gear knowing that the pro player used it/had it made for him. I would kill for a pro-stock/game used Ovechkin stick; I'd be hesitant to use it at first, but I'd get over it.

I skated pickup with a dude who had Ulf Samuelsson's old helmet and I was going to knee him out of principle.

Impossible. Tie Domi's bucket would not fit any other humans head. It's more like a blue recycling box than helmet.

And then turtle up immediately, to get the maximum Ulffectiveness.

Will you be wearing a Tie Domi bucket?

No, if he was wearing Domi's helmet he'd just lose the ability to speak coherently and then sucker punch the Ulf stand-in.

DarkStar? Those old Cooper gloves..Are they the forerunner to the modern day NBH 4 rolls? Seems to have a similar design.. I noticed this as I was going through old hockey cards the other day as well.. A lot of the late 80s Cooper gloves seemed to resemble the NBH 4 rolls in style.

The 4 roll glove from Bauer is the classic Cooper glove design from the 50s. The BDP(Black Diamond Pro) was originally tan leather in 50s photos of the Habs wearing them. There are 5 rolls and the pattern design on the five rolls is different. The BDP also had the Armadillo Thumb(three piece thumb) embossed on the thumb. The glove featured a genuine horsehide leather palm. Cooper started to die the leather to team colors in the 60s. The standard design pattern on the rolls was introduced in the 60s. There were 2 wrist rolls as well. It was in the late 60s/early 70s that Cooper started to use 1 wrist roll on the gloves. Around 1973, they offered the glove in nylon to reduce the weight from leather. There was also this funky mesh palm that was a disaster as it constantly ripped. I had a pair and finally my LHS just re-palmed the gloves for free. My brother has those gloves in the Maple Leafs colors. I'll have to ask him for them back. Cooper continued the design right through the mid 90s. Going to the shorter cuff with 4 rolls was the big change over time. The best Cooper 90s models were made in Canada. Bauer kept the design but the glove was in and out of the catalog for a few years. The current model has obviously been a success once again. I use a pair and the split fingers are the only dramatic improvement from the pre-curved fingers on the 90s models.
