Patty WAH, goalie son in a fight... video link

They're not worthy enough to have a singular game get its own thread when that doesn't even happen in our NHL forum. Talk about HS hockey at team dinners and in the lines at grocery stores.

Its worth a thread or two to the few of us that have particpated in those discussions. Im sure a few guys from MA who are stuck out of state would be interested in how Catholic Memorial or Philips Exeter are doing. As for the NHL...HS hockey here is widley followed much like he MN Wild. Similar to HS football in TX.

No it isn't. I agree with Mack 100%.

No one cares about a bunch of HS hockey players

I care about those players a lot more than i do about your precious opinion. And yet they allow you to post it.

Thats great Bud.

I play HS hockey, and i don't give a rats ass whether you and a bunch of guys want to talk about it. Start a HS hockey club website where you can have 2 members and talk about that. There is no sence in having threads in the NHL forum about a bunch of 15-18 year olds.

Hell, why don't we have a "How was your day at work" Thread, where everyone can talk abot someone gives a rats ass about!

Plus Hidious,

That is awesome you care about a bunch of sweaty 15-18 year old guys more than getting to read what I wrote (and you actually took the time to write about it)!

In the hope of preventing another tangential topic from developing here, can I just recommend if you want to discuss high school hockey and high school prospects, why not do it at HF boards?

Those boards are geared to minor league hockey and player development. You will find far more people who are both interested in and knowledgeable about the subject.

Sure..fair enough, but it does get old watching the same old people spout smart ass stuff on these boards day after day. It does get juvenile at times and a bit annoying. Also, we really have hardly discussed it other than the state tourney and gear used during the tourney..mainly the new 9500 Nike Bauer helmet and so on. Some people just have thin skin or think they have ownage of what the topics should be. Plenty of people thought the threads relevent enough to participate in them.

It is rather obvious that you're in HS.

I'm certainly not saying you shouldn't or can't discuss HS hockey here. I have no problem with it, and don't really see why people would. As long as it stays organized, they can choose whether or not to spend their time reading the threads.

My recommendation to HF was just so if anyone was unaware of it, they would know that their is an excellent site geared specifically towards those types of discussions.

I personally care about major junior hockey. I could care less about high school though, and they aren't the same. I feel this event (the whole line brawl) did warrant its own thread. There have been more retarded threads created for NHL incidents, and whenever a wild fight or act happened there, a thread was created as well.

As a Canadian, I'm highly interested in the CHL, especially with having a team, as the majority of the next up-and-comers in the NHL spring forth from these leagues. No offense, but I don't feel Americans quite share the same appreciation and that lack of appreciation shouldn't hinder those who wish to discuss major junior teams, or the shananagins that go on. This is a hockey website, so I feel all leagues should be allowed to be discussed to some degree. Heck, if threads can be created showcasing a 6 year old lacrossing a puck into the net, how come there can't be a thread on a line brawl involving one of the top goalies of all time and his son? It's not the topics fault for the amount of discussion it arises, but rather the amount of people who take interest in it.

5) not taking his mask off and throwing it at Roy as he skated full speed down the ice

Is that a joke?

Anyways, two Roy's acting like complete dicks, what a surprise.

Jonathan must have learned to fight like that from watching Patrick beat his mom.

The bold indicates complete agreement. I just saw the punishment, baby and Papa Wahhh got a total of 12 games. That's insufficient. Papa should've gotten 20 games and Baby should've gotten 25 for listening to him. I don't support removing the fight per game or so from ice hockey but this looked much more like on-ice assault, not a traditional fight. The whole idea of "we're getting the crap beaten out of us with a few minutes left in a game, so this is a perfect time for a brawl" is bullcrap. Should the other goalie have fought back? I can say I would have, simply out of sheer preservation but nevertheless...

Speaking as said person from MA (NH now), I couldn't care less how CM or Philips are doing.

His dad was a pretty good fighter as well.

Really? I think his record is 1 win and 2 losses, and his only win was against his wife.

I'd have to agree with you, the only fight he clearly won was with his wife and even that is questionable

Great, great, great editorial about the incident from writer Gare Joyce on ESPN.com.

I had no idea that fans actually threw trash on Patty after the game. Just what he deserves.

And we come on, I think we definitely should care about this. This has been broad casted probably worldwide now. Although it shouldn't be, this is pretty big news now.
