RBK 9K skates

Recommended Posts

Saw a thread a while back that someone posted with these skates. Couldnt find it but was curious as to what peeps thought of the skate ( that have seen them in person and or have used them) and how it compares to the 8k.

i had the 9ks for about 2 months to use and liked the skate overall. The fit felt better than the older 9k, the only problem i had with the 9k was that they were extremely soft IMO i took a shot in the foot and... lets just say im glad with my one95s

Great to know. thanks for the feedback Hyperlte. So in your opinion was that the only real noticable diff between the boots other than the look?

My friend has them he loves how light they are and how comfy they are, but like hyprlte said to soft he took a slapper of the foot and had to leave the game.

I first got a pair last June and the skate was done by August. Rbk shipped me a warranty pair and they wore out pretty fast. Last time i wore them i got hit and i slid into the boards and shattered my heel and broke my ankle. The side wall of the skate cracked and did nothing to save my foot. I dont reccomend them. 0 for 2 with 2 pairs

I have White 5k's and like the people above, I really like my skates.

But they offer no protection whatsoever and a slapper at the ankle/side of the foot hurts like hell!

I have the 8K's and found them a great fit but shallower than my Vapor XXII's. As far as protection I've taken a slapper on the side wall by the ankle and the Pro Armour I was great, I hardly felt it. But toke one in another game just on the side wall close to the toe cap and had a bees nest on my forefoot area for about five to seven minutes. No Pro Armour on that area. Ended up with a big blue bruise on my forefoot. Otherwise the skate has been great and performs magnificantly on the ice. Regardless of the lack of protection on the forefoot area I'd still recommend the skate to anyone because it carries a lot of other fine features you may not find in other high end skates.

i would say the heel... my foot just sat better in them. I always had heel problems, and the rbks were the first skate in awhile to fit me nicely... tounge could also have been thicker too

can't compare to 8k...but ive had them for about a year now and they are the best Skates ive EVER had.

i baked them and now they fit my foot literally like a glove...they're light, and not too light..

my only prob w/ them is that i despise E-Pros and I had to get Tuuks put on them

i got a pair of S15's for free, and even though i know they were free, i tried them, and they just seem TERRIBLE compared to my 9k's..

mostly PP i think, but i love these skates and I'd recommend them to any1

What about the heel was better? Tighter or bigger?

Hyprlte: Be sure to do a review on these in the product review section. I'm curious to see the life of these in the next 6 months. IMO there a nice looking skate.

will do

its a great fitting skate. If you had the previous model 9k's then these should work out for you. Just beware of shots to the foot lol IMO they need more padding.

how do they compare to the old 9k performance wise and such, is it worth the extra money or go for the later model on clearance price?

when i got these skates, the first thing i noticed was how much lighter they were compared to the old 9ks. They felt about half of what the older model weighed. I also found the boot to be a tad more comfortable. They seemed to perform just as well as the old 9ks, didnt notice much of a difference.

I know it is too early to tell, but does the craftsmanship of the boot appear to be quality in nature and do they appear as if they will be as durable as the prior model?
