Eagle PPF Gloves

Recommended Posts

Are the 2008 Eagle PPF gloves out yet? Anyone know where to get them? Incidentally, I see X72 gloves where the merchant is calling them PPF, but they don't appear to be the same glove.

Are they pro stocks? You can throw out conventional Eagle X72 vs PPF when it comes to pro stocks

I got X72 PPF gloves from thehockeyshop.com, but I don't know if they're the exact same as the 2008 PPF model. The palms look like the same material (buttery smooth). I tried on regular X72s, but my X72 PPFs are 100 times more comfortable.

What is the difference between the PPF listed in the 2008 Eagle catalog and the X72 PPF's I see at thehockeyshop.com?

fit.

Link me to what you're talking about. I believe what they have is the "Pro" which is the tufftek version of x72.

The difference between these and the retail X72 are the gussets (mesh vs MSH2), and the PPFs don't come with the extra padding that the retail X72 does.

Correct me if I am wrong, the retail also uses MSH1/MSH2 combo palms, but the PPF is all MSH2.

Those eagle X72 PPFs at thehockeyshop.com are indeed PPFs but they were released earlier hence the "X72" marking instead of the "PPF". Construction-wise it's exactly the same as the 2008's (tapered fingers, MSH2 palm and gussets, plastic inserts, no kangaroo pockets). That is what I was told by Chad (so don't shoot the messenger just in case) who is the store's manager. I was just there last week and they now carry the 2008 PPFs (both senior and intermediate) but not sure if they have it on the site.

MLSman: You're right the X72 uses MSH2 with MSH1 overlay while the PPF is all MSH2.

The MSH2 palms are unbelievable! It's very thin and soft and you can really feel your stick with the palms. My only regret is that I did not get my PPFs in Tufftek.

I have PPF's in tufftek, too me about 30secs to break them in.

Great glove but seems a little warm coming from beat-up x70's that have holes all over them :-)

Palm is absolutely amazing.

I just got a pair of the '08 PPFs from thehockeyshop.com last week. What they have on their web-site isn't necessarily what they have in stock. I called up and asked them if they had any PPFs in navy and snagged the last pair. They just got a shipment of the '08 PPFs in a couple of weeks ago.

I think I am going with the PPF in 13's for the new season ...

Does anyone know how the Eagle PPF's would fit compared to a Vapor XXX glove?

I know someone mentioned tome a while ago that the palm's on the 13's and 14's in eagle were the virtually the same size? Don't know if this is the case as I have never owned a pair.

Thanks in advance.

i tried on a pair of PPFs at the Total Hockey in Downers Grove IL.

I wish I had $200 to drop on those gloves! (actually i would get customs if i did) They were so comfortable and light! I have worn winter gloves that weigh more! I think they had the combo palms on them. I don't think the gussets were mesh, but i don't remember for sure.

Obviously I didn't use them, but from just trying them on i would buy them if i could!

Hockey Giant had a wall full of them yesterday. Seemed to fit like any other Eagle, loose. Nice palms though, lighter weight.

It's the same eagle fit, maybe a bit more snug due to the tapered fingers. Cuff is a bit longer in the PPFs.

How does the X6 compare to the X70/72?

*I did some digging and couldn't really find a better place to post this - flame away*

X6 is tighter than X70 and made in china, I believe the X6 also has a lock thumb.

X72 is tighter than both, especially in the fingers.

Palms are completely different.

Im wondering the same thing, would a 13 inch vapor xxx fit like a 13 eagle ppf, or would the eagle be tighter? Thanks

The PPFi is 13". The PPF is 14"

I tried on XXX and One70's at the store along with PPFs and the PPFs felt looser than both of them to me. TBLfan could probably go more in to specifics than I could.

is a 14 inch ppf available? and how would its size compare to the 14 inch NBH one90's?

You may want to try the PPFis. The fit will probably be almost similar but you may lose a little length on the fingers.

Yeah PPFs are still looser. I came form Supreme 70s and they felt a little loose but not by much. I just like how the open cuff allows for more movement!
