Smitty34 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 That's sad. He was one of the funniest comedians ever. He made a lot of people laugh for a long time. RIP George Carlin.
gxc999 7 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 I really like him for pushing the boundaries of society and making people ask themselves "Why are these words so bad?"Words are inherently devoid of all meaning except what we apply. Anyway, RIP friend!
mack 44 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 I remember seeing him perform as a kid and now appreciate that more than ever before. RIP to one of the greats.
Fletch 219 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 Sad beyond belief over here....he was an amazing comic. One of the best ever for sure. It sucks to see him go, but man he had a great run and no one could come close to his style while he was here. Rest in peace, George.
Spreedizzle 1 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 He's in my top 3. Always sad to see a great mind pass on. RIP.
hellkitty 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 Wow pretty wierd and unexpected. Also he was supposed to be playing the venue that i work at in July. Guess i have that day off now. He was a really really funny guy though
Chadd 916 Report post Posted June 24, 2008 Saw him live twice and will never forget either performance. He was a master of his art and one of the few comedians who could make you think while you were laughing. He was one of the great philosophers of our generation, he just liked to say fuck while exploring the world in which we live.If you don't know his stuff, listen to everything you can find. The old stuff may be harder to find but just as funny. One of my all time favorite bits:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCz0-HY1TLU...feature=related

gxc999 7 Report post Posted June 24, 2008 Despite being known so well for his 7 funny words bit, I only today realized how infamous his bits on football vs. baseball were! Carlin once jokedthat he had to have enough heart attacks to keep pace with Richard Pryor and when pressed to match Pryor's cocaine usage, he said he would just stick with the heart attacks instead! mack 44 Report post Posted June 27, 2008 Carlin died in 2008, his comedy, years before. Is it at all possible for you to not be an argumentative prick? You have some sick need to shit in any thread you're in and rarely ever contributing anything other than that. I hope your case of cynicism is fatal.
chippa13 1844 Report post Posted June 27, 2008 Yeah, that comment about Mark Stuart re-upping with the B's really walked a fine line. "Lighten up, Francis."
mack 44 Report post Posted June 27, 2008 Oh, a Bruins comment? Well no one gives a shit about them so I didn't see it.No, no need to lighten up here as it's just an observation of how old your schtick is. We get it, you're the most unpleasant person around and probably own at least five cats.

That was my first time seeing it. I'll be laughing about that one for a long time. It's amazing how Carlin always had new material, and it was always funny. mack 44 Report post Posted June 28, 2008 Look in a mirror, son.Not derailing this any more than it already is but that's pathetic. I would ask if you could stop being a cunt in general but that's rhetorical.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted June 29, 2008 Carlin died in 2008, his comedy, years before.Actually his recent stuff is pretty good. It's more critical and caustic than when he was younger but funny none the less. He went through a period of being really bitter and mean when his wife died, but that mellowed out after a while.
