I've had a pair of One90's for a couple of months. No complaints. I usually skate barefoot and with the extra grip of sweaty feet making pulling the skate off I have noticed recently that when I pull my foot out of my left skate off there is a slight click that seems to resonate in the boot. If I ease my foot out, there is no noise. It seems like it has nothing to do with the blade or rivets since the blade is planted on the floor and I am pulling on the tendon guard and pulling my foot out. Any thoughts?

Unlace a couple eyelets and fully loosen your skate. Taking off your skates should never be difficult and require a bunch of force or tugging on the tendon guards.

I do unlace them a bunch it's just that my sweaty feet stick to the inside of the boot a bit (there's a nice mental image for you all). Good tip on the tendon guard btw but the noise seems to come from the footbed area. I'll try not pulling so hard. Anyone try powder on their bare feet to reduce the "adhesion" factor?

Powder + sweat = paste

No go on that one

mmmmmmm....foot paste. I may just ditch the no socks approach although it does make me feel way more hardcore in the dressing room. Not that no one noticed the fact that I'm a pretty bad skater in the first place.

Try getting some very thin socks, ie. oxysox, that are meant to be worn in skates. It feels as good, if not much better IMHO, then going barefoot. Also, really make sure not to pull on that tendon guard. The One90 tendon guard is notorious for tearing.

If you do things like pull on the tendon guard when you take off your skates. Those who didn't, didn't have issues.

Yeah..they're not as robust as the older, wider tendon guards on the old school skates.

They were designed to flex. The theory behind it was that it would maximize your stride, which is true. I liked mine on my ONE90s, and didn't have any issues.

Yeah, I understand that...All I'm stating is that the tendon guards on the older skates really didnt seem to have much use other than to be a tendon guard...They were more robust, but didnt offer the performance of the newer guards.. I've caught myself doing the same thing (using tendon guards to pull off skates) and have to stop, unlace a bit more and take them off properly.. I guess old habits do die hard..If it werent for this forum, I'd probably still be making the same mistake..

I loved my OXYSOX but, I picked up a pair of NBH socks and I like them a lot more. Their thinner and seem to work great.
