Something's happening up there, and I don't like it. I used to always order from them, not so much anymore. I got an Oakley visor last week from them. The bag that the visor was in had regular old scotch tape holding it shut as if someone had it open already. The spacer kit was also missing from it.... <_<

Just because the list the "original" as $700 doesn't mean that it's true. It's a common marketing technique used to make consumers believe that they are actually getting a good deal.

1 - the bag usually has scotch tape on it

2 - pre-2008 visors do not come with spacer kits. Could've been old stock.

1- It's cheapy, off the secretary's desk, scotch tape. Not clear packing type tape that pretty much everyone uses in packaging...

2- There's a date on the bar code sticker on the bottom of the box, it says 07/19/2008. Would this indicate anything?

There is no MSRP on the S15, or on most hockey equipment in general. Retailers make up their prices and the MSRP's. As someone mentioned, yes it is a ploy to make you think you're getting a deal. The only pricing direction retailers get is MAP pricing, which is minimum price some items can be advertised at, mainly a few top end items.

As for spacer kits, they are the #1 shoplifted item in our store. It could have been swiped and they didn't notice. I think next year, I'm going to remove them from the boxes and give them to customer when shield is sold.

if you know your size and dont need to be fitted go for it. they are awful when it comes to customer service. i would recommend not letting them touch the blades.

yeah there customer service was really bad i walked in the door past 2 workers standing there...none of them said hi or anything walked over to the skates was looking around one of the guys walks right by me still says nothing to me...then i go over to where they keep the skates i find my size myself and try them on and was in them for about 10 to 15 min and the same guy that walks by me twice looks at me and says the sizes we have are the only ones we have left.....needless to say i was a lil pissed put the skate back in the box and will prb get them online and then take the to the pepsi center to have the sharpend and stuff

Yes, Oakley uses cheap off the secretary's desk scotch tape.

Is that a Great Skate barcode or an Oakley barcode?

Yep, that is a good plan. Hell, even keep the visors behind the counter and leaving an empty box is a good idea - give it to them when they are looking to see it.

It makes all of the difference in the world because they could've changed their prices on that date in 2008 so replaced the old one.

I'm just saying, it could be old stock, it could be theft. Just call them up and ask for one.

Pure Hockey keeps their visors behind the counter and I still got screwed out of the spacer kit on a visor. Not a huge deal since I had the spacers from the visor it was replacing but still, annoying.

Either they ordered them, or plucked them out of the box and slapped a sticker on it. Don't look at me.
