Heading to Toronto on 10/25 to see the Leafs and Sens play. I've been to Toronto before, but with my family, going with a friend this time and looking for some good places to go for nightlife etc...

what do you mean by nightlife ? clubbing ?

If you want clubbing, then you picked the right day and area. The entertainment/clubbing district is only a few blocks away from the ACC.

No necessarily clubbing, but I'm 24 she's 20 so you know something that's at least fun. Also, staying out by the Airport at the Marriott (thanks priceline, can't beat it for $50 a night), hotel said a subway line runs from the Airport to downtown is that true? Any info on the subway in TO, I've never used it before.

Cool, thanks.

Like I said that past few times I was there it was my family, so obviously going to be a much different experience.

How many days are you here for? There is a TON to do around the city on a weekend, you don't even need the TTC. you can pretty much walk anywhere around the city.

The two of you are of age, so what are you looking for? Good restaurants? Good bars? Good nightclubs?

Leaving Pittsburgh around 10, hope to get there by 3... going to the game, we then have all day Sunday. We're leaving Monday morning.

First, you guys are at the Marriott by the Airport? The Airport is about 25 minutes from the ACC. No subway from the airport to Union Station (even though they've been talking about it for more than 15 years now). And not really any good public transportation to get there. You'll need to check the TTC around there, best thing to do is to take the bus to the subway, and then the train to the ACC. Also, find out if they'll shuttle you out there.

But get downtown early, there are a bunch of good restaurants near the ACC to eat at before the game. St. Louis Bar & Grill just by the Dome, Alice Fazooli's, Jack Astor's, East Side Mario's, The Old Spaghetti Factory, Wayne Gretzky's, and that's just to name a few. And remember, $12 drafts in the ACC, so either predrink in the room or at the bar!

After the game, entertainment district is the place you'll want to go. A tonne of good bars/nightclubs to hit. Peter St. & John St. is right in the middle of it, everything is walking distance from there. Bars and clubs shut down @ 2 am.

Sunday? Stay in the heart of the city. Get to the Eaton Centre, walk up and down Yonge St, do Queen St. West, Yorkville (Bay & Bloor area).

Am I missing anything else? My T.O. people, i'm suffering a brain crap. Help me out here.

PB

Jack Astor's is a good spot, the guys at the tradeshow would agree with me. Only a couple of blocks from the ACC, right across from the MTCC.

I second that. The Jack Astors by the ACC was a greaet spot to eat and drink (even though I couldn't). I Was diggin' all the waitresses :).

When I went up to Toronto for a Leafs game, we hit up the Loose Moose afterward, and it was a blast. Reminded me of an east coast bar.

Irish Embassy is a good pregame spot as well. It was packed last time I was up there.

The Embassy is a terrific spot - not as close to the rink as I'd like, but not a bad walk. There's a surprising dearth of good pubs near there. Pretty well any place will have draft beer and Leafs' fans, but the Embassy is a cut above in every respect. I'd recommend the Duke of Argyll, but it's just not convenient.

As for getting around, there are express buses (#192 'Airport Rocket') from the airport to Kipling Station on the subway line; from there, you can access most of the city that's worth seeing. Hall of Fame's a good time, certainly. If you're looking for impressive sightseeing, you can't beat Casa Loma - with the leaves turning, it's incredible. If you want a good architectural walk, going West on Queen St. from the Yonge intersection (subway stop right there) past the Four Seasons' over to University Avenue, and then North through the UofT campus makes a fair prospect. Around the ACC, Kensington Market is a neat place and a great place to grab lunch.

Pre-game dinner/lunch at Gretzky's would be a good idea I think, I mean there are a lot of great bars and stuff, but in my opinion they are just about what you'll find in most cities. Something like Gretzky's is pretty unique and there is a lot of cool hockey related stuff to check out...food isn't that amazing though, but you don't really go to a place like that to have the best meal of your life.

After the game, Gracie O'Malleys is a fun bar to go to....not as intense/snobbish are most of the 'clubs' you'll find around, but not like a hipster lame place to go either, people still dance and have fun. It's at Duncan and Pearl St. I believe, but they have a website you can check it out.

Drinking age is 19 here. Or, is it one of those 'exclusive' places that has it's own age limit?

Loose Moose is most certainly not one of those exclusive places.

21+ places try to weed out immature, new to drinking 19 year old. Essentially they want a more mature crowd. I hate having to go to a bar and having a see a fresh 19 year old birthday party. The, "Oh my goodness I'm so drunk and I just turned 19!" Makes me want to Scott Steven's the whiny bitch into the wall.
