Ebay blades

Recommended Posts

Got the blade today so here is my first glance review.

- Yes, made in China (the sticker on the blade says so haha)

- Thinner then my Synergy II blade

- Good amount of pin holes in the epoxy on the face of the blade

- Not quite as stiff as the Synergy II blade

I don't have a chance to use it on the ice until monday at the earliest, I'll post back up after that.

Well, I got to use the blade earlier then I had planned in a game tonight. Aside from the different curve, I didn't notice a thing (which is good). I'm using it in an RBK 6k shaft and came from an Easton synergy II blade in the retail drury curve. Passing was fine although I did sort of notice during warm-ups that the blade felt a bit more ceramic then they Easton blade. During actual game play I didn't notice a thing.

My shots felt good and my half-cocked slappers actually had a bit more velocity on them, though that might be from the change in curve.

I'm going to be on the ice with it tomorrow so I'll be able to test it out more, but my first impression is that these blades are just fine. I'd like to put a good months use into them though and see what the durability is like.

So I was able to use the blade a bit more this morning and I'm still pretty satisfied with it. I was actually a bit scared to let some slapshots go, but I went ahead anyway without any problems. Two things I did find that were not there after last nights game:

- the blade is a bit loose in the shaft (front to back, not side to side)

- there is a chip about an inch down from where the shaft meets the blade

The blade still feels as stiff as the day I got it though. Overall I'd say for the price these blades are good and to go for it. They are a little bit below the quality of my synergy II blade, but they also cost almost a third of the easton blade. I'll probably be ordering another one of these e-bay blades in the future as long as the one doesn't shatter in the next couple of days.

NorthStar: I'll for sure update this when I have time into them and am able to give you buys a better idea on how durable they are.

chilaxin12: I can get some pictures for you guys with them side-by-side. I'll probably be able to post them up tonight or tomorrow.

They're not Easton blades, they're copies.

And by "Chinatown" they mean China the country.

Not soo much China the country... but cheap chinese-made knockoffs.

Nothing is wrong with a stick made in China.

How are Chinese-made items made in China not from the country of China?

I might end up with a Drury clone from them next time I need a tapered blade. I'm a fan of the knife-thin, stiff and brittle feel over something like a XXXX blade.

By "chinatown" I didn't mean from China.

I meant that they were FROM CHINA but were knockoffs. I wouldn't call a NBH stick made in chinatown, chinatown is where you buy knockoffs... get what I mean?

I see what you did now, Romex watch and RayBun shades type of deal. I was making the connection that you were saying there was a factory in a Chinatown district of some US city... I need my coffee.

$38 shipped, that's no deal for something like this. Hell I have bought a number of ONE95 blades on ebay recently for not much more.

I guess I'm just missing these deals then. I've found what look like some good deals on Easton blades, then I see the shipping and it totally blows the deal ($14+ shipping is outrageous). The chinese blade guys shipping isn't the greatest, but it's only $10.
