Pens fans rejoice. All you gotta do is trade one of Gonch or Whitney for a shooter and you might make the playoffs

Edit: If i were pens GM, id stay the course, maybe miss the playoffs and try to sign a gaborik on the cheap. Not sure what other shooters are UFAs this year though

I went to the game that night and while I was out to dinner with my family I saw something about this on the news. Shero was joking saying that as soon as he heard he was a winger he signed him right away.

Once I got there, there was a family in the penalty box and my girlfriend says that the kid. I didn't realize it until he was announced later but sure enough.

That's pretty awesome that players do these things and give some lucky kids possibly one of their best memories.

Hockey players always have been and always will be the best professional athletes when it comes to this kind of stuff and approachability. Even guys some of us hate as players, Cooke, are great off the ice and just "get it".

If the Penguins sign Gaborik I'm going to kill myself. That fool is made of glass and is nothing but a waste of money.

Big win over San Jose last night :)

Big win over San Jose last night :)

I got tickets during the day from a friend and it scared the hell out of me when I saw who we were playing.

And then I almost cried when Crosby came for the shootout. I turned to my girlfriend and told I had only seen him score in the shootout at the Winter Classic but sure enough he made a great move to slide it through the 5-hole.

Pretty sure Crosby is one of the better shootout guys on the Pens. Not like Malkin's feeble attempt last night

He is good but sometimes it seems like he's thinking too much rather than just going down and putting it in like he did last night.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have made a big shakeup behind the bench, firing head coach Michel Therrien on Sunday. The move comes less than a year after Therrien guided the Penguins to their first Stanley Cup final since 1992.

Dan Bylsma, head coach of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League, will take over as interim head coach.

Its a good move, but I think they waited too long.

Anyone read Dan Bylsma's book, So Your Son Wants to Play in the NHL? Unbelievable story, kid had a hell of a hard time getting into the Kings Organization, but look at him now!

yea i think the move should have been done earlier...lets see if they can turn their game around...always seems to be a curse for teams that make the cup to miss the playoffs the following years

Yup! Autographed copy too. B)

Good for Dan. He always had a very fun summer camp in Michigan. Head coach of the Penguins... god damn... I now have a reason to watch the Penguins.

Beat the Sharks, lose to the Islanders. Impressive.

Assuming they're still in 10th (or worse) come trade deadline, do you think any teams will be interested in Satan and Fedetenko?

I would think Hall Gill or Whitney would be up for grabs instead of those two.

what are the chances of colby armstrong coming back?

Why are Pens fans obsessed with him?

In any case he's a restricted free agent and that means they would have to trade for him or give up draft picks in compensation.

I agree with you Chadd...I'm an avid Pens fan and I dont want Armstrong back, he's a mediocre winger...he's never amassed more than 40 points or 20 goals in his career so I dont get why that would help Crosby like some pens think it would...what they need is a very talented and smart winger to play with Crosby that will help him improve, but I'm a Malkin fan myself and would like to see him on the top line with a better winger...

Now they are sittin in 8th after today's win, hopefully they'll keep improving.
