BIG toe curve

Recommended Posts

It looks like more of a toe curve in person, trust me. I've been doing a LTR on it for like 6 weeks now. It plays like a toe curve, that's for sure. The "texture" is a sort of metallic paint that comes on the blade standard. It isn't exactly smooth, but it's not a very significant texture. Oh yeah, and whatever it is peels off pretty easily.

Interesting. I dono, to me though it still just doesn't seem like a total toe curve. I picture something like Hossa's curve when I think of a toe curve. Looks good for a retail one though. Did you spray something on the Gionta blade? It looks textured, or is it just the lighting?

You could say that about the Kovalchuk pro too.

I'm sold...just broke my only Kovalchuk pro Dolo blade and have given up on finding another, Gionta definitely looks like it will make up for it.

Kovalchuk pro vs retail Gionta. The picture looks a bit closer than it actually is. The lie is lower on the Gionta, obviously the toe is differently shaped. The Gionta pattern is similar but not as drastic as the Kovalchuk, it's a noticeably smaller pattern.

the gionta looks almost like a game prep kovy dolo i have, my kovy blades and 10k version however is the same as the taper blade that you have pictured.

How would you say it compares to the Smyth?

Its angle is skewed in the pic but it looks like it still has the mid-heelness of the PM9, but with an obvious toe flare. Some people have odd curves that change curves later on in the toe, so I'd still say it's a toe. Ugly as hell, but a toe.

If you ever want to go Ovechkin big I'd try a P92. Maybe even a P88 or Iginla, but I screwed around with an old Sakic I had and made a disgusting banana that I came close to sending in just for shits and giggles.

hey guys I have a question for you. I'm a left hand shot and most my favorite pro curves are right handed (Kovalchuk) I was curious though If i were able to get pro curve in a Kovalchuk, could I send it into a company and have them make copies in left handed versions, and if so who/which companies would do this?

hey all I could still use some help on the above question, but also here are some pics of my latest blade, it turned out to be more of a mid curve than a toe, but its still pretty rad haha. I wanted to make it like a Zherdev but I didnt really get it that well.

Holy crap. If I saw someone with a hook like that I would immediately contest it with a referee. That thing looks more dangerous than useful.

hey guys another question for you, since I've been having no luck finding a Zherdev blade are there any similar curves to his that I can maybe keep my eye out for?

I just ordered a Zherdev/Kovy stick from Kynetyk Hockey (my dream curve!) I just hope the left handed versions are as perfect a copy as it is on the right handed models, and not have the discrepancy like on the Gionta curves on the Warrior line.
