It seems like a cool idea, but i dont know how practical it would be. I guess it would be good for rental skates?

Cool idea but pretty limited in the application.

Pointless. the whole point of a wheel is to minimize friction on a rough surface. The whole point of ice is to eliminate the friction on the surface. I could see how it might be marginally better on synthetic ice, but as it is, it's just another dumb idea, combining the expense of replacing wheels with the surface that doesn't need them.

Can't help but think that those will make it even easier to run over peoples fingers and such though...
