You are after just the boots, correct? Undrilled or not?

I'm pretty sure this has been covered before and its really hard to get. Occasionally you'll see some items pop up on Ebay. But aside from that they are fairly rare, unless you have connections.

That completely depends on how comfortable you are with modifying them. If you're going from ice holders to inline chassis, there is a great tutorial in the Roller Hockey forum about doing that. Hell, it's a great read if you're planning on taking them off at all.

Good question. I often wondered that.

If ever I were to find some custom ice hockey skates, I was toying with switching the ice boots for my inline boots, so I'd end up with a great pair of skates for inline hockey, and an ok pair of skates for skating around with mates on the weekend/the odd ice hockey clinic to see what the differences are.

Anyone done the latter? Im guessing it would be exactly like the ice->inline conversion?

i am fine with it i am the one who made the tutorial on how to do it, and this is the link to it, and that still doesnt answer my question

Didn't realize it was you. In that case you shouldn't really have a question. Is the price of the custom boot worth the time you would spend modifying it in which ever way you plan to.

If you're from Boston, there is a shop in Bedford called Zwickers will sell you skates, then install a chassis for free if you let them keep the holders, so I have heard from a few people on this board.

So your total cost would be boots + chassis, and you trade the holders for labor. Pretty good deal unless you are drilling and mounting yourself.

Thats a really good deal actually. Usually you just get stuck paying for labor and have a pair of holders sitting around that end up on ebay or collecting dust on a shelf.

Or you could sell them for full price, considering they likely don't have any damage to them. You might be able to even sell the steel and holder separately and make more back than the labour cost in the first place.
