Pro stock leather gloves

Recommended Posts

It depends on the player, glove model, etc. There is no definative answer. I've seen HG1's in porto and leather. Same with easton gloves. These days you are more likely to find porto than real leather.

You cant use this as a final answer, but to me the real leather gloves photograph with a more reflective nature- artificial materials seem to be more of a matte finish.

I was asking because I am looking at the CCM pro stocks on hockeymonkey and want to know if I would be buying real leather or not. If I was to buy them is there a way to tell for sure when they arrive?

yes the smell is one of the good ways to see if its real leather or not but if you buy online you can't do that :(

I dont think porto retains water as much as leather. In my experience leather (when treated right) outlasts porto.

Leather will tend to wear in and get a smooth, harder spot built up. Porto will tend to kinda crack at the corners.

A well-worn leather glove will look a hell of a lot better. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y279/rust...70/IMG_0060.jpg These are my Eagles in Mustang suede. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y279/rust...70/IMG_0061.jpg And this is the palm with some serious miles on it. Not super supple still, but the wear is a lot better as it doesn't tend to pile like nash or other palms.
