Naslund or Lindros?

Recommended Posts

I am coming from a p14 curve on my ID one95. I can get some power on my slappers but I cant control my wristers at all and am looking to change it up on my next one95.

Mainly looking to see what the difference between the Naslund and Lindros curves are as I have narrowed it down to those two. I dont know too much about the Lindros so if anyone has one and would like to tell me about it..it would be much appreciated.

Thanks guys.

Lindros is more closed/neutral compared to the more open Naslund (Sakic). I'm moving away from the Naslund myself, and I can sail the shots wayyyy over the crossbar.

If you have a chance, maybe borrow some sticks from team mates and see what works best for you?

If you look down the bottom edge of the blade, the curves are identical. The only difference is the Naslund in slightly more open at the toe.

Yeah, and that makes them shoot differently...

so other then shooting would in every other aspect (stickhandling/passing/receiving etc) then P88 Lindros vs. P92 Naslund curve be identical?

there's been some discussions that Lindros lays flatter on the ice & so is a bit better for receiving passes?

You still have your P14 stick/blade?

It took me about a week to adjust to it, but now I can go from a Naslund to a P14(Bugsy) w/o a problem. They're both about the same but w/a different lie.

For me, it would depend on how much I wanted to be able to elevate the puck quickly. If I'm in a game where I'm shooting more from in tight, I'd go with the p92. I feel like I have a little better control on passing and longer shots with the p88. I'd stay away from the p92 if I played D. Easier to keep the shots down with the p88 than the p92. Still, it's all pp. There isn't too much difference. I have both and can go from the p92 to the p88 no problem. I usually sail a few wristers way over the net before I am re-adjusted to the p92.

I'm a Lindros guy since I like the amount of curve it has and the neutral loft keeps my shots down when I want. Sakic style curves don't work for me as I tend to shoot high anyway, so they just go over the net.

I seem to think the P92 has a bit longer blade and a bit pointier toe. I'm not sure how close it is to a Sakic since I haven't compared the two directly, but they seem to feel like they have a higher lie than they actually do.

If you'll be playing D I would suggest taking the P88 (Lindros). For me, I sometimes forget that I'm playing w/ my P92 (Naslund) and if I'm not careful my shots from the point will be too high to be of any use. But like the others have said already, if you need help going top shelf when you're near the net the P92 is the best way to go.

If you can, you should definitely take a few shots w/ a friend's stick to try out the curves before you invest in a new one95.

Jarick..if you want, I can take a picture of a P92 and a Sakic side by side. Curve-wise I think they're the same, but the toe may be smaller on the P92.

I go back and forth between the 2 all the time. Forward I'm on the P92 as I am a net crasher. On d its the P88 for a nice low flat slapper.

Lindros lays flatter on the ice & so is a bit better for receiving passes...this is my experience also

I've been wondering if there are any retail curves in between the p88 & p92?

The p92 is too high of a Lie for me, and the Draper (in a "Lie 4") is definitely better, but IMO it opens up a little too soon, i.e. towards the heel.

And the other hand the p88 is too neutral for my taste. (I shelf a lot of shots in close as a forward)

Would the Warrior Weight/Vanek be similar to a p88 with just bit a more loft af the toe, or is it much flatter, and thus more similar to a pm9 with a little loft at the toe?

I use a P88 and can roof it from anywhere up close. It is very popular I think because it is a very versatile curve. It's not really strong in any category but does most shots well with just a bit of practice. I tried a Sakic, Weight, Frolov, and a few others but always came back to the P88. Even though it's a 6 Lie and I am ideally a 5 lie kind a guy, the P88's rocker helps alot. Passing forhand and back hand and shooting low and high from both sides are great.

my 2 cents !!

I've got a TPS Nash and even though I love the Sakic curve, I dislike the Nash..What gives? I've got a TPS nash blade I'm willing to get rid of.

I've found 5 curves I can consistently play with. The Sakic, Nash, Naslund, P14 Bugsy and Yzerman. I have a Kovalchuk which I like, but I think I'd like the pattern more so in a wood blade..
