One-piece fingers

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I recently was given a pair of X70s for free. Sweet deal right? Only thing is they've got one-piece fingers. So far I'm finding it pretty annoying and hard to get used to. Did anyone else make the switch to one-piece fingers? What are the advantages, if any? Did you get used to it?

Thanks

the gloves I used when I was growing up were I think all one piece fingers, they take a while to break in but, I think they'll be fine once they break in. But, now after using gloves with two piece fingers, I don't think I would go back.

Edit: about breaking them in, I used to just bend the fingers when I'm at home until they felt a little broken in, and then I just kept on using them to break them in.

They'll never break in, you should just send them to me.

But if you don't like that idea, you could always keep bending the fingers back and forth and just using them, I don't know of any quick tricks. Bending the fingers back and forth and twisting a little used to be part of my pre game/practice routine, also trying to fold the glove as a whole to get everything as mobile as possible.

Put a stick in your hand and don't bend the first knuckle as much as you would to make a fist. I switch between my one-piece Eagles and my Bauer 4-rolls with 2-piece without issues.

I thought I wouldn't be able to stand them when I was just wearing them at first, but on the ice it's almost a non-issue unless I'm grabbing a water bottle or something.

Funny after doing 2 piece fingers for so long I just could not deal with one on on some 4 rolls, it was one of the main reasons to move them along

try baking them

I hate one piece fingers, I'm way too lazy to break them in properly.

I googled without result...How do you bake gloves?

I have some bauer 4-rolls from a few years back that have one piece fingers. They felt stiff and I much preferred the the two-piece fingers at first. After a bit of bending and use however, they feel great and aren't really any more restrictive (and the protection is definitely better). I would say just use them and they will break in just fine.

In a skate over, for 5 minutes or so is usually enough
