Mission Fuel Ti Titanium Stick

Recommended Posts

Are the Mission Fuel Ti Titanium stick any good? I did a search but can't seem to find any reviews on them. These are the black & white model...I don't know how old they are.

Anyone with hands on experience with these sticks?

Thanks

They have been out only for 5 months? I thought they were at least a few seaons old.

So I guess it's a pretty good deal for $70 a piece?

The "Fuel Ti" is an older model, the "Titanium" (which is the black and white) is newer. I'm on my 2nd one and I love them. For $70 it's a steal, I'd buy 2 at the least.

I have used all versions of the Mission Ti stick line (i.e Ti PRO, Ti Fuel and the white Titanium) As a player I favor tapered shafts and low kick points for serious wrist and snap shots. My previous sticks were the Vapor XXX, XXX Lite and XXXX.

IMO skip the Ti PRO for it just does not have the balance and snap a Vapor or the other before mentioned Mission models have. Although I currently am using the white Titanium in an 85 flex I would have to say my favorite among Mission is the blue Fuel Ti 75 flex. Very similar to the Vapor XXX Lite in feel and has a great low kick point.

I bought the white Titanium when they were only offering the 85 Flex so that may be why I like the 75 blue Ti the best. Also, it feels to me that the shaft on the blue Ti is sunken further than the Titanium which I prefer better. I love grippy sticks and the blue Ti Grip is very grippy. The whole stick is covered in it from the top all the way down to the tip of the blade. The most grip coat I have ever felt on a hockey stick. The Titanium is only offered in soft touch which is OK, but it seems to lose its grip feel over time and in cold rinks. My TI Pro lasted about 5mos and the Ti blue lasted about the same. Both sticks split at the lower seam in the blade probably due to taking face-offs. My Titanium is 3 mos old and does not even have a scratch. So far I am satisfied with it but I long for another blue Ti 75 Grip.

Check out Giant, they currently have the blue Ti sticks on serious clearance.

Sorry if this reply is too long. It is my first post. It won’t happen again.

On the ad, it's describe it as the Fuel Ti One Piece Composite, but the picture shows the black & white Titanium with no "Ti" on the stick anywhere.

I was actually tried out the stick a bit at the store yesterday and it felt pretty nice.

It's the Mission Titanium on sale at the National Sports, and not the blue Fuel Ti. For those that prefer two-pieces, they also have the Mission V-Hex 2 (blade and shaft already attached) at a slightly higher price. I had to splurge on one of each. I think the sale goes until this Sunday.

The black and white Titanium doesn't reference Fuel in any way. It just says Mission Titanium

You're right. The ad description on National Sports Flyer says they are Mission Fuel Ti, but the picture shows a black & white stick with no reference to "Fuel Ti"...just as you mentioned, Mission Titanium.

I'm going to pick up two after work today. They have the Hossa, Boyes & Rafalski in 75, 85 & 100 flex...good selection.

Thanks everyone.

They also had a lot of hossa's in 65, and a couple of sundin righties in 75 (Mississauga Location)

Most of the sticks were Hossa. There were a couple of Boyles, Sundins & Rafalskis. The Mission Sundin curve has a heel curve and open face, which is different than what I have seen in the TPS Sundin curve.

I picked up a couple of RH Boyles in 85 flex.

Erin Mills.

They had a ton of Rafalski's 100flex, both left and right. Bunch of Sundin Right (most were 75flex), some Boyes (in a seperate rack from the display, first stick isle on the right from the proshop) and bunch of Hossa intermediates, left and right.

I saw some right Sundin Right 75 at the Scarborough location on Thursday morning if that's closer to you.

Im confused about that last Mission stick range and the website doesn't help much either.. is the Mission Titanium the one with the titanium wrap in both the blade/hosel and low end of the shaft?

Has anybody else used this other than MasterofGravity? JR what did you think of it?

I've used it, I like it better than the Fuel Ti and better than my old Synergy SL. It's light and has real nice balance, also a nice feel for the puck. The "soft touch" finish is great but that's more of a PP sort of thing (some guys like grip, some don't... I don't care for sticky grip so the soft touch is great, it's a matte finish). I had a Sundin 85 and the flex felt almost the same as my old Fuel Ti Sundin 75, for whomever was asking about the Sundin curve, it's supposed to be a Drury clone (hockeymonkey has a mission curve chart with comparison to Easton curves) and is a lie 6. I picked up a new one with a Rafalski curve (supposed to be a Sakic clone I believe) but have yet to try it. I don't know about how far down the Titanium wrap goes but the graphic area is slightly higher than on the Fuel Ti if that means anything.

Here's a pic that may or may not help, 2nd from the right is the Fuel Ti w/ Sundin curve, 3rd from the right is the Titanium w/ Rafalski curve (notice the 1/2" height difference in where the graphic lies, the "exposed" titanium mesh is also 1/2" difference). For sake of comparison the curves are as follows from left to right... Heatley, Bauer P7? (not sure, don't ever use it), Sakic, Jagr pro stock, Forsberg, Rafalski (Sakic clone), Sundin (Drury clone), Bauer P91a Staal (Drury clone? a bit more open than the Mission Sundin)

Hope that helped in some way.

Is the shaft on the Mission Titanium thinner than other senior sticks? They feel thinner to me. Or is this the "new/different" stick effect?

also find it a tad stiffer than what the flex ratings says it is 75 kinda feels like an 80ish
